they have low flying time aren't they, the Kuwait's Hornets...?
buy them, spend a few millions upgrade a bit like upgrade old radar to APG-79 AESA radar...avionics...
seems like a fine deal to me...
and that news of sell offer for Saudi's Blackhawks to us...intriguing..but highly doubt gov got the money to get them..
btw the US M109 SPH offer dead already right?
well according to WIKI .... Kuwait's Hornets is F18C single seat version ... seems our RMAF want 2 seater ... Kuwait have 7 unit F-18D 2 seater trainer jet.
for me look both also seems not suitable to RAMF... any way good to get other 8-10 F-18C/D to setup full squadron in Penang AB, or get more unit to setup F18 in sabah too.

in this age of highly modernized avionics and greater situational awareness has been achieved, do we even need two-seater anymore i wonder.... for ground bombings, i could understand the advantage of two-seater.... 1 can pilot, keeping eyes on the sky.. the other focus on bombing ground targets, SAM suppression and such.. but current avionics should have even the odds for single-seater
military expert said 2 pair eye still better than 1 pair eye in sea flying. better observation too。

the single seat c version can just take over the migs role though the c version actually have the same capability like the d version
i'd rather MMEA getting ShinMaywa US-2 since MMEA is close to Japan Amphibious just like CL-405
Get china AG600 better, bigger tonne ... can carry 12 tonne water great for aerial firefighting for bush-fire in MY and Indonesia, also as transportation plane upto 50 poeple good for peninsular and Sarawak/Sabah logistic, offcouse Sea SAR

For MRSS from PT PAL, how much could it cost with TLDM spec. Helipad need to upgrade to maedium heli strength and vehicle ramp strength increase to more than 50 ton capability. With Indo/Philippines marines and navy using light heli and amphibious force don't have tank MBT spec tank. Even indonesia army have separate LST to carry their Leopard2.
i believe MRSS from PT PAL via BNS will cost around usd 200 mil (all-packages-in) . well Damen/Destini i guest will be around usd 250 mil
just ask your opinion, IF a local film company get budget to make a military film target on "Sabah Standoff story“ offcouse involved our arm personal and asset in film (pay for this cost), many local artist , do you all think gov/mindef will approval ? will film too sensitive ?

They got no choice, people make noise of the EC725 buy which I would say a good one. There a a plan to get a second batch but now seem silence.
yeap 。。。 many division need new asset just not enough budget 。。。 i hope Army get better helicopter like Chinook. NH90 or AW101 in future。 Army version helicopter usually much cheaper compare to Navy version。

Got to clear it with Duterte first... he may not like the pinoy aspect
Its a good idea actually, IF well managed in order to increase public awareness. For example Ah Boys To Men is pure 100% 24 carat propaganda, but it seems to be well received even in Msia
but are our local film makers really up to telling the story in a subtle, sensitive and yet cinematically-entertaining manner? and more importantly, will ATM/FINAS/politikus green light the result, or meddle and demand "more positive portrayal of our Armed Forces" which eventually make the film look like pure 100% 24 carat propaganda...?
well it maybe not use Sulu name .. story mainly portrayal/show our arm personal fighting on intruder 。。。 so involve army amour, ship, jet figther 。。 ya ...need get ATM/FINAS/ and gov approval。
fact that many pipu dun know is that we didn't get all the helo in one go. the delivery of nuri is stretched to 20 years from 1968 to 1988. some of the nuri are still in its late 20s
oso, the ones that were upgraded were later batches (can see from tail number: M23-3x). Afaik the older ones were kept in storage once EC725 is in full service
The army should get a good mix medium and heavy lift helicopter. The best the PTD to get another 2 batch of EC for transport and heli assault operation. 4 to 6 chinook for heavy lift. The Stallions Ks now are to expansive.
army already got AW109 for transportation. add EC is ok but no so urgent, Chinnok should get faster , good to have 12 unit Chinook, 6 for peninsular, other 6 for sarawak/sabah。

Good offer .。RMN interest or not ? only 20 year using, still have at lease 10+ year life i think。。。 21k tonne... just finish re-fit in 2014 cost 65mil pound helicopter can slowly get.
HMS Ocean is built only to commercial standards, and memang only has a ~20 year life
The refit IIRC was only to keep up with EU environmental regs
I'm certainly not a ship expert but I wouldn't spend LOTS of money to buy a car hoping to use it beyond its planned useful life, too many components can go wrong... what more a far more complex machine like a ship
well ship commercial standards not means only 20 year life, many commercial ship can use 30+ years. like Indo made makarssa class can use 30 Year+ worth or not , depend study and analysis by team. if value price and got budget why not , it can use many role for MAF.
10+ submarine for Indonesia should not be a problem ... due to there economic power and future will have 10x economic power compare to MY agree we should have 6 submarine.
