Several of Queen's guardsmen collapse during Trooping the Colour parade

user posted image

AT LEAST five of the Queen's Guardsmen have collapsed at the Queen's Trooping the Colour parade.

In soaring temperatures, at least five of the Guardsmen collapsed during a ceremony at Horse Guards Parade this lunchtime.

Shocking photos from the Queen's birthday celebrations show several men collapsed on the ground before being carried away on stretchers.

Dressed in full uniform, including a bearskin, one soldier fell forward out of his formation as temperatures soared to 27C.

Crowds gather for the Queen's birthday celebrations at the Trooping of the Colour parade.

As the band marched towards his position, the guardsman in the second row collapsed to his knees before landing face down with his hands to his side.

His colleagues maintained position as the ceremony to mark the Queen's birthday continued around him before three soldiers then walked to his aid.

One removed the man's bearskin before he was lifted on to a stretcher.

China gives $16m in weapons to help tackle Marawi siege

China turned over 590 million pesos (S$16 million) worth of rifles and ammunition yesterday to help Philippine troops fighting Muslim militants in the southern city of Marawi, and proposed holding joint military exercises to combat the spread of terrorism in the region.

In ceremonies held at a former United States military base north of Manila, President Rodrigo Duterte received wooden crates filled with over 3,000 Chinese-made assault and sniper rifles, and about six million bullets.

"The donation is not big, but it is big in the sense that it marks a new era of relations between our two militaries, and it comes at the right time," said Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua, citing ongoing clashes between government troops and Muslim militants in the southern city of Marawi.

He said China is sending a second tranche in the coming months. "This is only the beginning," he added.

Pakistan Army silences two Indian posts, kills four enemy soldiers

The Pakistan Army on Sunday decimated two Indian posts which were targeting civilians on the Pakistani side of the Line of Control and killed four Indian soldiers in the process, Inter-Services Public Relations said.

The military’s media wing also released video footage showing the two bunkers being destroyed by Pakistan Army’s precision artillery fire.

“In utter failure to cap remembrance of Wani’s shahadat, Indian forces targeted innocent civilians along the LoC. Indian guns silenced effectively,” ISPR Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted while sharing the video.

“Pakistan Army stands by the innocent civilian population against unprovoked Indian ceasefire violations and would continue to respond befittingly to this naked aggression,” he added in another tweet.

Considering both India and Pakistan are both nuclear-armed countries with the potential to make South Asia uninhabitable for the next 10,000 years, I'm pretty surprised this don't get that much news.

Meanwhile the world gets its panties in a wad everytime NK launches a missile (which barely works).

Explosion hits US Air Force recruiting office in Oklahoma

An explosion struck a US Air Force recruiting office in northeast Oklahoma -- the second time a recruitment center in the area was attacked in recent days, the FBI said.

Bomb squads responded to the explosion in Bixby, a suburb of Tulsa, at about 10:30 p.m. local time Monday, Bixby police Sgt. Tim Scrivner told CNN. No one was inside the Air Force recruitment center.
Now the FBI and the Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating what type of bomb was used -- and what the motive was.
Early reports indicate the fragments were consistent with a pipe bomb, FBI Special Agent Jessi Rice said, but the type of bomb has not been confirmed.
