Muslim or no muslim, all marriages are registered under JPN.

Although go through the mosque, if not mistaken the ulama has marriage lessen? so he has to submit the relevant forms to JPN to register the marriage.

unless intend to marry in south Thailand, am very sure JPN will check the marriage status of partner b4 it gives the green light.

ok maybe I am wrong on that matter. You better cross check.

But Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara has to have all these records, right?

cannot be that they only have non muslim records.

no problem.

why, you don't trust you sister's boyfriend?

he has a checkered past?

I am sure the jabatan agama will cross check if he has been married b4 because when I got married, the JPN will post my information and my wife's on the board to notify everybody in case got objection.

Its not me, its my sister.

As for his past, she only relies info that came from his mouth.

I dont think so. If that true, why many wives didnt realized their husband married another woman?

that;s why I wonder lor.

we should be able to cross check with one jabatan on marriages.

takkan, somebody already married but want to marry again can trick someone by saying he is not married without authorities alerting us first.

even for muslim marriages, if not mistaken, if want to take second wife, also the jabatan will inform that the person already married or not.

Pretty sure they have that info, although dont know if it has been digitalise yet. Perhaps need to ask at the place where he reside, or jabatan agama islam at his place.

yeah, no harm in checking. Otherwise can stop by at the nearest UTC to ask- they got everything there, can renew IC, can renew passport, can renew car lessen, everything under the sun.
