Anyone here changed to aftermarket brakes? Am considering either:

1. Preve/Exora Bold brake kit
2. AP Racing 7600

Do share if you have changed your brakes before smile.gif

Preve/Exora hub can fit to Iriz? Sure?
Upgrade the pads already?

I believe with abit of modifications, it can be done. I remember seeing someone at the Persona fb group doing it. Cost wise? Not sure haha

Today something weird happened. Was on a ramp then when wanted to drive forward when the lights turned green, hill hold locked the tyres. Engine RPM dropped to about 500RPM and can feel the engine vibrating. After about a second or 2, I full clutch in + brake then tried to move again. This time the car actually moved.

hi guys, previously i went to a tyre shop to do balancing and alignment. The thing is the foreman told me that maybe my rear right absorber is faulty as he compared the left tyre and right tyre, the surface of right tyre was like some surface makan & road some surface not makan, but the left one is okay.

so he told me maybe the absorber is faulty thats why the tyre become like that.

after that he suggested me to align the right tyre to left and left to right as if i switch to the front, it will be noisy.

few days later, i went to proton service centre, the advisor told me that no issue with the absorber and they had tighten it.

does anyone know what is wrong?
*
It can be ur rim bengkok or passenger distribution unbalance in long term that cost the issue

hi, a question for those who change their car head unit. I find that the car head unit  bracket is not universal, i ask some of the accessories shop they even want to layan me when they see the bracket(i open it myself before hand and show them), does the accessoris shop guy, make a brand new bracket for you or they chop some of the pieces to make it fit?
*
Yup. stock metal bracket only for single din. For 2 din need to make custom bracket.
Please avoid those unprofessional shop, you don't really need to remove it by yourself and show to the shop. If the shop service is good they wont care want kind of bracket, just straight make a new one as long as new HU can be fitted without question asked.

QUOTE(littlegamer @ Apr 19 2018, 12:24 PM)
Thanks.
I checked  the Blaupunkt wiring is suited for my new head unit. The original metal bracket does not fit any aftermarket 2 din head unit. I have found, I need to buy a universal 2 din cage for new head unit, curse Proton for making things so inconvenience.

The original cage only can fit Blaupunkt 1 din, sucks.
*
When I change to new 2 din HU i just bring my unit only. the metal bracket I leave the shop to make it.

QUOTE(yadea @ Apr 19 2018, 06:32 PM)
Lol those people who buy myvi also will complain saying they needa change dashboard to fit their new HU.
*
Proton still good for keeping the universal 2 din slot size. We can simply swap with aftermarket without bothering dashboard.
myvi and some other cars that use faceplate to blend well with dashboard but only look nice for stock unit.

May you recommend the shop? I got fed up with all these accessories shop tak mau layan even I ask them honestly how much will they willing to do. I end up buying aftemarket bracket and still cost less than what they sell in store.

I only need help on mounting the rear cam. Specifically I do you know how to pry those plastic parts at the rear seats. I'm driving new persona by the way, so the rear part is abit different

Err.. There is a key blade sheathed inside the key fob. pry open the keyhole cover at the door handle. this manual key should override the keyless entry any day.

Not familiar with specific one but my personal tips for choosing these shops, that I rather go to smaller shop where the shop owner is the installer himself. With 1 or 2 helpers is still fine. Book the slot when he less busy. The workmanship quality, customer service if not the best surely beat those bigger busy shop with many random crews that only think to finish the job fast and easy way.

For me Big shop only good for window shopping the products. If I found the same single product cheaper online of course I will buy online. Only if the shop offer cheaper combo package with free installation I may consider it.

Rear cam as in reverse cam?
Not sure which is the plastic part in persona but where exactly you want to mount it? inside cabin or outside at bumper?

I suggest route the wiring from floor, up through B pillar, passing roof edge to C pillar to reach boot area then.

Hi all.. just want to share my recent nightmare with Iriz..

Yesterday morning as usual i tried to unlock my car using my key fob.. but no respond from the car (it did not unlock). So i think, perhaps something wrong with my key fob so i get the replacement one.. but still no respond from the car (as if the car belongs to someone else, lol)

So i call proton care. The proton guy on the phone think something is very wrong with the electronics of the car, and suggest to tow the car to nearest service centre for further check. But i refused, as i want to check other ways first.

Then i manually open the door using my key. When the door opens, i slot the key into the key hold, press start, and tadaa my car come to life. And suddendly my car decide to respond to the key..

What worries me now if this problem would happen again in the future bcoz my wife is using the car daily..

Do you guys ever experience this problem? Perhaps can share with me the cause of the problem?
