hi, a question for those who change their car head unit. I find that the car head unit bracket is not universal, i ask some of the accessories shop they even want to layan me when they see the bracket(i open it myself before hand and show them), does the accessoris shop guy, make a brand new bracket for you or they chop some of the pieces to make it fit?
Yup. stock metal bracket only for single din. For 2 din need to make custom bracket.
Please avoid those unprofessional shop, you don't really need to remove it by yourself and show to the shop. If the shop service is good they wont care want kind of bracket, just straight make a new one as long as new HU can be fitted without question asked.

Thanks.
I checked the Blaupunkt wiring is suited for my new head unit. The original metal bracket does not fit any aftermarket 2 din head unit. I have found, I need to buy a universal 2 din cage for new head unit, curse Proton for making things so inconvenience.
The original cage only can fit Blaupunkt 1 din, sucks.
When I change to new 2 din HU i just bring my unit only. the metal bracket I leave the shop to make it.

Lol those people who buy myvi also will complain saying they needa change dashboard to fit their new HU.
Proton still good for keeping the universal 2 din slot size. We can simply swap with aftermarket without bothering dashboard.
myvi and some other cars that use faceplate to blend well with dashboard but only look nice for stock unit.
