DDR2 still available at Lelong. Only 2GB stick. U need 2 for 4GB.

After that, u also need a SSD otherwise El Capitan will be very slow.

My 2007 MBP came with 4GB from previous owner but the standard 120GB HDD is very slow with El Capitan. Ended up ditching it away since already 10 years old. Bought a SSD from a forumer here. Later, will ditch the DVD drive as well. Useless anyway.

Lelong? I cannot find it. Can you give me the link? Mine is the 500gb hdd, but i plan to upgrade till Yosemite. My plan is to upgrade the ram first, then buy snow leopard os and upgrade from there. So hdd is really that slow?

The HDD is slow because already 10 years old. Better to replace it before it fails later on. Lifespan for HDD is about 3-5 years tops.
