Extend Master bedroom to balcony

Hi all, i plan to extend my Master bedroom further 2M out to balcony area.
Do i need to build additional footing to support extended wall? Current contractor told me existing balcony structure sufficient to support extended wall. Anyone with experience extended without add footing please share your feedback. And in case footing is compulsory, does it cost a lot to build it? Around how much?
