Hi there.
I'd been using a standard USB 2.0 to ethernet adapter and only got 1MBps max. My friend running windows laptop using same Lan port have 10MBps using the original lan port and cable plugged into his acer laptop. Is it worthy to buy this thunderbolt to ethernet? Any reviews? Rm139 is quite hefty and should i go for D-Link USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter instead?
much thanks.

hehe, USB 2.0 has a maximum speed below Gigabit LAN (which is 1000MBps), so of course your USB2 adaptor is not able to get that speed I've been using the Apple adaptor for 2+ years now, no issues at all. Just take care of it, don't abuse it (bend / strain the adaptor) and it works just fine edit : correct as per Mavik's info. Thanks @MavikThis post has been edited by xaw5126: Mar 14 2017, 01:45 PM

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Mar 13 2017, 04:26 PM) hehe, USB 2.0 has a maximum speed of 480MBps. Gigabit LAN is 1000 MBps, so of course your USB2 adaptor is not able to get that speed I've been using the Apple adaptor for 2+ years now, no issues at all. Just take care of it, don't abuse it (bend / strain the adaptor) and it works just fine I think you need to be clear with your units of measure. USB 2 = 480 mbps (megabits per sec) MBps = Megabytes per second
