(I use this route and short distance of walking, about 5-8 minutes in front)

FYI: I think the credit card transaction could be case by case. I have not encounter any credit card transaction problem in Taiwan/Taipei. Not sure other area(s) in Taiwan.

EasyCard (traditional Chinese: 悠遊卡) is a contactless smartcard system operated by Taipei Smart Card Corporation for use on the Taipei Rapid Transit System and on buses and other public transport services in Taipei since June 2002. Like conventional electronic fare systems, the card employs RFID technology to operate without physical contact. One thing I am very sure is EASYCARD also can use to purchase the entrance ticket for ZOO TAIPEI.. This post has been edited by transit: Apr 24 2010, 07:20 AM

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Aug 17 2010, 08:09 PM) icic, do we need to book in advance for those motel? since its still have 11 months to go, should i book the motel around april or may? actually i am working in SG, is SGD accepted in Taiwan for a good rate instead of changing to USD 1st? of course, i will buy $10k TWD as pocket money and the others i think i will just use CC for it. but just incase, i might keep around $200 SGD in my wallet incase they dont accept CC or having issue with my SG CC in Taiwan (My friend have issue with his CC when he was in SG last time). frankly speaking, i have not been to other country other than SG, this is the 1st time, so a bit nervous. And those motel u mention, can we book online?. 1 more issue is my mandarin sux, even i am in SG, i am speaking 100% english here. I am a cantonese person, so my mandarin really sounds very cacat and a lot direct translation from cantonese. Can they speak a little english there if they can't understand my cacat mandarin? They can speak English but perhaps not as fluent as us here. Anyway, those in travel line can understand and speak English. Just my observation.
