QUOTE(stimix @ Apr 21 2011, 12:47 PM) To Yehliu & Jiufen, just take local bus or a train to Keelung & thereafter a bus to either both locations. But at Yehliu, the bus stop before Yehliu village so you need to walk ~ 1km to Yehliu Geopark. I bought bus ticket from taipei main station direct to yehliu which took me about 1 hour 10mins. and yes, they stop at main road and you need to walk in to the geopark. i spent like 2 hours there(3 would be jz nice). then need to walk out to main road to take bus to keelung city. this took me another 40mins. then switch bus to jiufen which is another 45mins. ironically, i jz finished my blog update on this route. check out the link at my signature. |

Jz FYI who want to know the update on currency exchange, when i withdraw money from Taiwan ATM, I actually got a good exchange rate from CIMB which is RM10.48 per NT100 but need to add Rm10 per transaction la...if you withdraw more, then it's a good rate.
Also, I was at Suria KLCC last week, I kinda pass thru one of the money exchange counter and jz out of curiousity, i checked out the Taiwan exchange. OMG is RM10 to NT100 exactly. I'm not sure if it's still the same but this is a very good deal... you can go there and check out yourself if u want, just sharing what I saw. but don't come back and scold me if there's no more that rate la...hahha |

QUOTE(aiyume @ May 13 2011, 03:28 PM) i can walk very long on flat land but not uphill. i walk the most when i travel. 1 day of travelling = 1 week of walking during normal days XD about 2.5 hours per way from taipei to hualien if u take the fastest train (Tze chiang express). So 5 hours on travelling on day trip only. + time transfer from train station to your destinationizit possible to do taroko tour in 1 day from taipei? i know from taipei to hualien train takes about 2hrs +. or izit advisable to stay a nite in hualien instead? i found this hostel provide tour+ accommodation but not sure if the price is reasonable.
