USDt is always 1:1 to US dollar. Tested and confirmed. Check with their support.

QUOTE(wengherng @ May 29 2017, 03:01 PM) No, it's not always 1:1. not sure where does the info goes wrong.. USDt is peg to USD, 1:1It usually (and very easily) swings a couple of percent each way. Just like recently when it dropped to as low as USD 0.92. U wire fund from local bank to your tehter wallet. This is 1USD = 1USDt you fund your polo account using this USDt. it will and always be 1:1. I don;t see my USDt grew or shrink, still the same value there, even the USDt coin is at 1.04 now CODE Every tether is always backed 1-to-1, by traditional currency held in our reserves. So 1 USD₮ is always equivalent to 1 USD. The Tether white paper explains in more detail the motivation for developing a dollar-pegged cryptocurrency by listing advantages to individuals using it for dollar-denominated transactions rather than using dollars held in “legacy bank” accounts |

QUOTE(honght @ May 29 2017, 11:50 AM) Yes. by default, your LUNO account carries LUNO wallet, however you can add other wallet inside. If you want to deposit your BTC straight to Poloniex, you can give the address from Poloniex instead of Seller -> Luno -> Poloniex Meaning there is no seller to match your buy order yet. You can either increase your buying price or wait for the seller willing to sell you at the price of 180 USD/ETH come on, the charges is puny, why make a big fuss over it? and GST 6% u can swallow, this small amount being calculative.. aiyo |

QUOTE(honght @ May 29 2017, 05:13 PM) Have you not heard about there are transactions got delayed because of the unconfirmed blocks in the blockchain ? delayed? no, never encountered one. All within the hour. Why do you want risk your BTC getting stuck in the chain for transferring twice instead of once straight to the destination ? Just my 0.000002 BTC. dude, the charges is so micro... even reverse 10x. BTC values increases in time. jangan berkira sangat. |

QUOTE(honght @ May 29 2017, 05:22 PM) Which is exactly my point. well,TBH, i don;'t mind at all. the delay is because of what? Transactions volume is major culprit.BTC values increase in time thus why waste the time to send through two transactions instead of one ? Luno even issued notice about it. https://www.luno.com/blog/en/post/dynamic-send-fees Unless you day trader or scalper... source sembang kencang : https://themerkle.com/bitcoin-experiencing-...ays-what-to-do/ |

QUOTE(honght @ May 29 2017, 05:41 PM) So based on the current status of the blockchain on https://bitcoinfees.21.co/#delay Avoid sending during rush hour. its okay BTC resides on the web based wallet. When transactions are lower, do send.the fastest and cheapest transaction fee is around 360 satoshi/byte and on average its around 500 byte per transaction. 360 * 500 = 180000 sat = 0.00180000 BTC = approx 4 USD. Again, it depends on your wallet when you send out the transaction. JAPAN and KOREAN are crazy, pulling up ETH everytime it dipped ... wow... |

As I said, my USDt in Polo remains unchanged, despite Coin USDt at 1,05
I still have a solid round USD transferred from Tether Wallet. The value remained unchanged. How so then? |

QUOTE(vknight @ May 30 2017, 12:02 AM) USDt is same like Paypal or Neteller in a digital form, so you exchange your FIAT dollar to digital dollar.Tether ---> http://tether.to/ So open account with them, get verified. Then Wire your fund into this your account here. u can open EURO, USD and YEN. MYR is not supported. Then you can spend your USDt to many exchange https://www.bitfinex.com/ https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/ https://poloniex.com/ https://shapeshift.io/ https://www.kraken.com/ I'm using POLO as an example. They don't allow WIRE incoming, so use alternative which is USDt. Debit your tether wallet, credit your polo USD account. So TL;DR CIMB/Maybank --> Tether Wallet (Wire deduction etc) --> POLO (no charges) ---> buy BTC ---> sell BTC --> get dollar (USDt), then sent back to your Tether Wallet (Charge 1$ per transaction) Tether to POLO and vice-versa transactions takes as fast as BITCOIN transfer. Because it is using OMNI layer protocol. Question led to answer by Tether. Since they PEGGED their USDt to USD, why there is big movement breakdown in USDt? It should be always 1:1 (~ +/- few percentage is normal) |

QUOTE(1wildcat1 @ May 30 2017, 12:39 AM) local wire fees: depending on your bank. HSBC is usually cheaper. Public Bank charges Rm30 + FXUS side they deduct 20$ to $35 [last check, depending on the receiving bank that Tehter provide to you] Do not cash out from Tether wallet, just transfer to POLO or whatever exchange, then buy BITCOIN ---> sell locally. its cheaper and faster, plus u may gain on BTC price movements. U can trade arbitrage with Tether but not worth the time. BUY cheap at POLO, sent to your Bitfinex. Liquidate there, transfer back to Wallet. then from wallet back to POLO and repeat. |

QUOTE(Enigmatic @ May 30 2017, 12:43 PM) Because we have to see Bitcoin past profit gains from its scarcity. For it to be a utility of value which can be transferred betwern parties it has to be cheap to transfer, quick to transfer and easily accessible. Otherwise it simply isn't sustainable for Bitcoin to be in existence. Then it seems you are in a wrong business here. Trade stock, got charges, buy/sell gold.. Semua ada Trade BON, IPO, options, Forex all have charges. U use PayPal, use CC also have double charges. U can gain value by holding. My point is simple, don't be kiasu Only Asian so calculate on puny charges, but failed to see a bigger picture. |

QUOTE(WooTz @ May 31 2017, 10:00 AM) This is the thing I really don't understand, why must buy or mine ETH? Different people have different views. Not everyone are same view. U will never understand sometimes, why they do it.. Why not perform services and trade goods while offering discounts for ETH payments? Why not study computer science and join one of the startups and get paid in ETH? Anyway I'm revising my price target for 30th June thanks to Okcoin joining the fun, the floor looks solid at $300 Coins are now seems more for speculation game, more than payment. Maybe in next 20 years |
