I don't see why everyone's complaining. The rules have been clear for years - 7kg cabin luggage with dimensions given as well. I swear, this is the only country in the world where the people can bitch and whine about actually following the regulations.

The old rule - one 7kg cabin bag + one laptop bag or handbag

Now - 1 cabin bag + 1 laptop bag or small bag. Total weight of 2 bags not to exceed 7 kg

See the difference?

Yes. However, let's be honest about one thing - these changes are because people have been abusing the cabin luggage restrictions all this while. It's the airline's prerogative to amend the rules as they see fit, just as it's your prerogative as the consumer to shop elsewhere if you disagree with their policy. If they lose enough business, they'll be forced to revert the changes.

i guess finally my complaints work hahahah

u know keep have surveys etc and sometime disembark got chi chat with crew. always highlight this. and i said just look at just now. >10 ppl running around finding spce for their puny small hand carry because these other fags carry 3 bags. i just say kuat2 biar them terasa. selfish bastards anyway.

these just like pulis la.. suda betul2 buat kerja tangkap orang. kena sendiri. buka thread x puas hati. law is law. rules are rules. just not enforce kan tongue.gif

Hear, hear. Only those who have been in this situation will understand why they needed to enforce the rules.

Abused or lack of enforcement, earlier? There was totally no enforcement previously, on the 1 pc hand carry (not exceeding 7 kg) plus 1 laptop rule.

Enforcing existing rule should be the 1st line of defence. Not changing rules and start enforcement.

Right, prerogative is mine. Depending on circumstances, I have now started using other airlines. It is after all about $ and sense. Some fair play on the part of AA would be nice.

Wishful thinking, but I hope AA can now consider refunding all my forward booking tickets, now that they have changed the rules. Money is in their hand. I guess it is their prerogative.

Cheers

You're right there - it was more of a lack of enforcement than it was about abuse. Then again, "tak kantoi, tak salah," is a very Malaysian thing. We are more than happy to flaunt rules if we don't get caught.

I do however think that AA may revise this policy, albeit only to some extent. If their recent "free tickets" promotion is anything to go by, sales are declining.
