Seems like there's an oversupply of commercial properties not only in Miri but in a number of cities in Sarawak like Bintulu and Kuching. If oversupply in residential properties, that's still able to rectify as there are always people looking for a place to stay/rent, regardless of a recession or not.
Shoplots/Commercial units, on the other hand, not everybody needs to set up a business and I'm sure those who do are not that many compared to salaried workers. Talk about a mismatch of demand and supply.
this statement is very true...i'm fr kuching...plenty of shoplot around...no demand...Shoplots/Commercial units, on the other hand, not everybody needs to set up a business and I'm sure those who do are not that many compared to salaried workers. Talk about a mismatch of demand and supply.
earlier, when my wife and mysefl moved back to kuching from overseas, i was considering to set up a business and was looking around for commercial unit with my wife (partner), ended up, the KEY QUESTION is, what business do we wanna set up is more important than the locality..cos, everywehre in the city, there's empty shoplot for rent... (anyway, we havent figured out wat biz to set up for now, so we go into employment, hopefully by next year we can set out on our own)
tenant market nowadays, sad to say...
