See ... my take is slightly different.

This KYY saw an 'opening' (weakness) in the shareholder structure...
and he assumed there was the 'value' in the company...

so he buy and buy and buy......

and he was probably thinking that he would be welcomed by the board based on his past reputation in the construction business...

but so far .... nothing has panned out.....

company performance has not been up to par....
and the board so far, appears to treat his (KYY) investment as hostile...
so quickly the board does a placement of shares ( who wouldn't right? someone 'new' has muscled their way in )....
so it would appear that KYY is stuck....

he has bought so much shares now....
how?

To go forward, he needs to buy more and then he could be forced to make a GO....
not gonna be easy atm..... and it's gonna be extremely costly.....
BUT to retreat and admit his mistake....
is gonna be painful as unloading his stake is NOT gonna be easy....
.... and for outsiders.... best we follow and just 'smoke cigar'.......

or do you judge it by the stock market price?

and luckily in JAKS we have probably a good example...

Sure JAKS stock price went up ... and then went down... and UP again.

And the stock price did terror good for 2017.
But was stock price justified by its earnings performance for 2017?
