QUOTE(Boon3 @ May 27 2022, 08:31 AM)
So Genetec reported (finally) its Q4 earnings yesterday.

Yearly sales 'improved' so much. From 97 million it soared to 223 million. Sales grew by 126 million.
Yearly profit went from a 4.3 million losses to a profit of 58 million. What an 'improvement'...

A year ago, customers owed them 19.2 million. Now customers owed them 155 million.

Which means despite sales growing by 126 million, sales debtors increased by 134 million.
OMG! Sales debtors increasing more than sales....  blink.gif
Does Genetec even collect money from their sales???
user posted image

Inventories increased.
Receivables increased.
Cash remained the same ***
Borrowings rocketed
Payables increased.

All at the same time.....  shakehead.gif

Yeah... cash balances remains at around 31 million but... that's only because it had a 18.5 million share placement and borrowings increased by 79 million!

user posted image

Oh wait....but the company 'said' it had a net profit of 58 million.

Ain't that something?

58 million in profits but clearly there isn't any collection. For one year??? One year, this company no need to collect money?

What business does Genetec do that doesn't need to collect money?

@@

Can a profit be a profit if money isn't collected?

Well? Highly suspect isn't it? Either it's a lousy company or ..............................................................

Near the end....

At the same time, it is worth noting that Genetec’s debt and trade receivables have spiked tremendously in recent years (see bar chart). Total borrowings increased from RM18.3 million in FY2021 to RM98.15 million in FY2022, while trade receivables swelled from RM19.2 million in FY2021 to RM154.88 million in FY2022.

Chin appears unfazed.

“Genetec is in a growth phase. This is consistent with the industries we service, and we are mindful to ensure that our growth is sustainable over time. Prudent financial management and discipline have been key to our long-term success,” he maintains.

LOL!

unfazed wor......

Nice! Doing business without collecting money.... and meanwhile, just borrow more money.

Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

the other option is of course to look at those beaten down stocks. Stocks that were 'good' but somehow you missed... wink.gif

so firstly...

1. have they stopped falling?

2. do you see a base building?

3. moving forward .... is there key development that could turn it to great stock pick of the year?

for example....

okay here's a stock with not much value.... ( laugh.gif I left the name in... so if anyone itchy backside buy because they think I am giving them a tipsy... LOL.... go ahead la... devil.gif )

See sometimes stocks, they don't need to plunge... they can roll and roll and rolling down the hill....

user posted image

so but where we are at now...

using the BIG MARCH LOW INDICATOR...

user posted image

see the stock?

so besides of strong trending stocks at the moment like PTRANS, perhaps you could search for similar stocks like this....
check their bottoms....

Any comment of gloves stock since Monkeypox is transmitted by surface contact (besides intimate contact - that's another counter 😄) and may make more people wear disposable gloves
*
Simple question : Can mpox create a global pandemic and create havoc as Covid did?

Not forgetting, the fundamentals of the industry is in abundancechanged drastically for the worst. Supplies is in abundance. The Chinese are in big time. And when the Chinese are IN, they are IN - which means real intense price war.

Me? I will shy away from this speculation. The time has passed. The sunshine days is over and the glove industry will be nothing but a sunset industry for the next decade (at least). That's my 5 sen opinion. Feel free to disagree.

If one is betting purely on good ipo performance, perhaps reading the stats would have helped... yes?

Since 2021, or rather the most recent 35 IPO stocks (yup... that many laugh.gif ), only 5 ipo have closed higher than its opening price.... !!

Only 5!!!!

The rest? Open high and then close much lower..... sweat.gif

but then.... ppl like to simply blame this and blame that.... like Bursa cannot make money.... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Kossan...

user posted image

sales dropped....
margin dropped...
asp dropped.....

quarterly net profit of 45 million?

that's even much lower than what Kossan made during its sunset days..... shakehead.gif

and then there's the smart argument that Kossan is super cash rich.... hence Kossan can give super divdends...

yup it is cash rich.... but the biggest risk in such assumption is that the BOD has the final say with all those cash....

if they dowan to payout dividends, cannot meh? see....

user posted image

they even dumped 795 million into dunno what money market fund....

weekly chart....

user posted image

dare anyone say that it is impossible that Kossan might be a penny stock in the near future?

Buy to hold?

I would rather prefer buy to make money anytime babe.

cool2.gif

p/s buy to hold, what an easy excuse..... cause most of the time.... they hold because the stock that they bought is losing money for them.....

So I was reading the report on Harta. Was surprised to read 'TP downgraded from 2.90 to 2.80'.... I was like 'wait a min...

Cause I remembered.... in Feb, Harta was still having a crazied TP of 7 (Harta was trading at 5+) then...

then in May... the big tax caused Harta to lose money... Harta was 4++... TP was still crazy high despite a HUGE cut From 7.00 to 5.60.

was searching for that May report.... somehow.... not there. laugh.gif

see no May...

this was the screenshot (I saved...hehe)
