i open up the rear zip to see if i still have the receipt but i don't have the receipt only left the manual. when i take out the manual i notice one of the horizontal heater coil like spring support fell out 1 side.

tried half an hour to try to slip it back but that side that came off won't hold. can see it's rubber coated metal, and that rubber coat on that end already destroyed left the metal, and that rubber was important to hold the metal in it's slot. it was quite dangerous as you need to stretch the coil so it reach the hold, if the other end got lose it'd be a fully stretched spring.

in the end no choice have to remove the other end.

now missing 1 support spring...

this chair not the cheapest ikea office chair, but tak tahan macam.

you know Ikea no longer carry Malkolm chair? it's not on their website and last i visit i no longer see them. while few months ago they still have them.

i'm wondering if they realized the design got problem?

u can purchase the bottom part seperately in ikea.

just throw away the current spring n wheel part and reuse the chair part.
make sure u get the one with same screw layout.

do they have it on their website? i never see the hydraulic sold separately. how much?

Same as bigger items such as bed, sofa and cupboard. All are combination of multiple boxes which are price seperately.
