Hello all!

I'm planning to get FFXIV on STEAM as a gift, does anyone know if once I actually get it, can I activate it and play it in Malaysia?... Only if you have full experience with this please. If you're just guessing in any way please avoid giving any input.

Avoid steam version

The game is actually available for purchase from Singapore region, you can activate it just fine if you buy from there. Buying from SG will get you a US version.

Thank you for the input! I have gotten FFXIV EU working on steam without any VPNs and such, it works just like any other game, without any stated region locks. Even got Heavensward immediately lol..

Also...steam version expansion doesn't have region specific, so you can buy it from anywhere and activate it just fine.

For some reason EU version seems to be cheaper for both the game and subscription if you buy from third-party websites or resellers.

Mine is EU version non-steam (1x PC license + 1x PS4 license - each license purchased separately but recurring subscription only need pay one-for-all).

I setup my SE account in UK and no issues paying subs using maybank CC. I set auto-bill every 180 days coz that's the cheapest.

credit card can. yes, u start from a realm reborn which hv max cap lv at 50, then heavensward max cap lv 60, then the soon to come stormblood max cap lv70 wit two new classes.

usually SE hv discount when u buy all together. i've been playing since ver 1.0, tht time interface still so so n they really improved a lot. its a very nice game with one of the most frenly community i ever seen. no toxic players or wat so ever. join japanese server tonberry if u can.

nowadays i hardly go raid or anything, just login, walk around relax n chat with my neighbors or random ppl in town.

Which server are u at? Masamune?
Not sure if Tonberry worth the effort or I'm fine being in Masamune

does it costs to transfer your chars to new server? Are you paying to EU or NA server btw? I believe payment is at the Mog Station under Square Enix website?

I'm currently trying out the free trial to however far it can bring me, and it's not too bad of a game so far.

If what you say about buying whole bundle at a cheaper price, I reckon it will be when Stormblood is out

Fortunately I see plenty of players running around the first town I started.
