I know, damn confusing right. In March 2016, Advance 30 should already be 30/10.

Mine was like this.

Ruby or Varnam or Aneka are all the same price now if you apply at unifi.my but note that currently it's called Ruby Promo Pack. I assume the the normal Ruby Pack is still RM40.
*
So, this means I don't need to worry since the price will be RM179 for house B adv30 even with ruby package. hmm.gif Then again, when I saw the agent entering my hypptv package detail, there is no 'promo' wording.
But, is the price RM30 for ruby package permanent or is there any 'expiry' date?

Eh, after reading the other thread, what will happen to my streamyx account deposit money after upgrading to unifi?

The note given by agent only states, "terminate streamyx, install unifi, ruby hypptv and maintain TM Home number".

Will my streamyx as well as my TM Home number deposits be carried forward to unifi account? (Cause unipack RM88 last time under my name while the phone number under my dad name)

I know, that why I asked what will happen to my streamyx + home phone number deposits money.
Will two deposits be refunded after complete upgrading to unifi or the deposit will be carried into unifi account balance as prepayment?

It'll be refunded. It can't be carried to the new UniFi account.
*
So, go to TMPoint and collect the deposit back after unifi contractor finish installation? rclxub.gif

He was paying RM 149 earlier and TM called to offer RM 159 for 30Mbps. He was informed he won't get any free upgrade in the future. However, when the Free Surprise page was up, he tried his luck and it showed he's entitled to be upgraded to 50M. Waited for few months and here it comes today...

Wah, so lucky ar.......

So, how do you plan to complain? hmm.gif I am very interested as well. laugh.gif

You can never go wrong with Asus. They even have a low cost AC1200 router now.

High-end TP-LINK is much better then their affordable routers, what you pay is what you get. I tried the C2600, C3150 and AD7200 and all of them are rock solid. Currently rocking the AD7200, 100Mbps over wireless. biggrin.gif

Asus "low end" model is considered too expensive for me cry.gif No choice to use TM provided router.

is there any point enabling ipv6 in malaysia?
*
QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 26 2017, 12:52 AM)
Not really. So far for me only one.

To get the IPv6 tag in LYN.

Back then had to use 6to4 Anycast Relays. It's a lot easier since Unifi got ipv6 natively back in Sep 27 2013. Now, so simple, most routers supports ipv6 natively and is easy to setup.

If ipocalypsev4 occurs, we'll be ready.
*
There is a point.......TM is starting to assign private IPv4 address for many of its customers. Port forwarding at customers' routers gonna be useless.
Those who host server/game, remote desktop (VNC), remote CCTV viewing will have to rely on IPv6 for direct end to end connectivity. icon_rolleyes.gif

dunno how about next year for half the price....
*
Two years counted from 2017, so technically it would be year 2019 for the half-price............
But....quota....sigh.... doh.gif
Don't forget the TM CEO (from year 2016) said TM will intro usage based pricing within 3 years which is 2019........

Just like mobile operators, it is your choice, you want more (high quota or unlimited) you pay more or full price. It is quite fair for those who are not frequent users and shall be granted a discount.
*
A big IF those operators wanna offer 'high quota' or 'unlimited'.........

Remember those ancient VIP5,10 and 20 packages?
VIP5=60GB
VIP10=90GB
VIP20=120GB
Subscribers who exceed quotas will have their connection speeds throttled by about 90%.
You read that right, there was no option to 'buy' more quota or subscribe unlimited package. The truly unlimited unifi business package can only be subscribed by registered business entity. (By law)

One can imagine upcoming usage based package will not be cheap nor affordable.

Then again......I prefer 90% speed throttling but still unlimited.....after all....50Mbps unifi (yeah, the upgrade) x 0.10 = 5Mbps can still download 1.2 Terabytes 24hours 30 days.

Based on 80:20 rule, only 20% users occupy 80% of bandwidth. So the top 20% pay more and the bottom 80% pay less. TM had yet to implement quota on Unifi (except Streamyx Lite) though it was proposed in 2010. We may monitor our monthly usage, most of us will realise that we hardly use more than 100GB (on download) in a month.
*
Sure, TM would be happy to charge top 20% heavy users more.
So....what make you think TM will allow the bottom 80% to pay less just because they use 'less' bandwidth? hmm.gif

for ArcherC5 v2, is it better to have this enabled or not for best speed?

If you use Bandwidth Limiting feature, this must be disabled.
Doesn't seem to have much difference with that NAT Boost on or off.

My torrent like kena throttle je. Since upgrading last year never had this throttle problem. Not like I torrent every day.  huh.gif
*
You think TM give a damn?
Back in year 2003-2005, before https/sftp/ftpes (let just say encrypted connection, unlike torrent weak protocol obfuscation) was widely used, TM throttled connection based on detected file extension. (mkv,mp3,ts)
Best part = throttled to 5kb/s (dial-up speed)
1Mbps was the top 'broadband' speed in Malaysia during that time. whistling.gif
These days, TM throttle torrent based on network connectivity pattern detection
