woke up today feeling all melancholy... missing my life in sg aih

moved to the gulf region last year body here in the gulf but heart and mind in sg

recently met my gang when i was on transit in sg. the gang comprises of a few sgreans and a few foreigners like us. almost all of them are looking for jobs to change for various reasons but all of them agreed its hard to look for a job that they all have not gotten response or very few and this is ranging from different industries, engineers, media and banking... makes me think when should i plan to move back

think it's always that line 'hard to get approval' but one will still hear stories of ppl getting it nonetheless.

i think it depends on what u want in the end, do u want a lifestyle with the earning power or a different lifestyle but less stressful? personally i enjoyed every bit of sg, ppl are competitive but that in turn is a motivation and here in another region of the world is anything but. even though sg is stressful, i made wonderful friends, i enjoyed my lifestyle even though its just mrt/bus occasional uber/cab compared to driving. but i quickly got used to not having to be stuck in a jam already.

so boils down to what u want and ur priority now.

the problem is not with your ep it's with the new company - tell them about this is the easiest right?

it's more like for a rough guide only, there are still few ppl who earn below the floor or above the ceiling and what u see is just the average

dude, just fill up the card and then when ure at the counter, u can either
1) give the officer the card
2) give the officer the ipa
3) give the officer card+ipa
4) ask the officer which one to give

logically income tax is taxing on the income u earn whilst in the country and since u not working in malaysia, ur taxable income will be less unless u still have other source of income eg rent/investments but i'll generalise that most ppl when they leave the country, they stop paying tax

if ur current contract says that becareful as the industry might be small enough ure bound to bump into ppl and then if really bad luck, actions can be taken against u

of course, assuming ure not some big shot high visibility person and of course, it's ur decision - i met a friend who got terminated in 24 hours because of this and mind him he was not the highest profile person in the company and the former company just found out cause the new company and old company met at a biz lunch and discussed about someone joining and caught him
