QUOTE(ThanatosSwiftfire @ Mar 27 2017, 02:38 PM) My peer group in KL now making abt rm12-14k as Finance Mgr in mnc... and im making less than half that for a similar role. A MNC manager here maybe 6k to 10k nia max, so the conversion ratio for my industry at that pay grade seems to be abot 1 : 1.5. moved to the gulf region last year But im hoping to get a "promotion" on my way back la, so that can be a 1:2. Try to sell myself higher with sg experience and all that bullsh*t Eh where did u go? I tot u always in sg one? |

QUOTE(ConquerorX @ Sep 10 2017, 09:09 PM) If I recall, it's pretty hard to get the EP even, nowadays; but it's just a hearsay from my agency. Likewise, been thinking if I should move back to Malaysia. it's a pretty stressful life here in SG think it's always that line 'hard to get approval' but one will still hear stories of ppl getting it nonetheless. i think it depends on what u want in the end, do u want a lifestyle with the earning power or a different lifestyle but less stressful? personally i enjoyed every bit of sg, ppl are competitive but that in turn is a motivation and here in another region of the world is anything but. even though sg is stressful, i made wonderful friends, i enjoyed my lifestyle even though its just mrt/bus occasional uber/cab compared to driving. but i quickly got used to not having to be stuck in a jam already. so boils down to what u want and ur priority now. |

QUOTE(fkxstyle @ Nov 26 2017, 07:15 PM) Do I only have 1 month to move to SG once my EP is approved? the problem is not with your ep it's with the new company - tell them about this is the easiest right? What if my notice period in my current company is 2 months? Seems like extending for another month is not enough as well. How do you guys deal with this issue? |

QUOTE(State9 @ May 29 2018, 02:35 PM) Haha. Precisely. logically income tax is taxing on the income u earn whilst in the country and since u not working in malaysia, ur taxable income will be less unless u still have other source of income eg rent/investments but i'll generalise that most ppl when they leave the country, they stop paying taxDo I need to pay tax at Malaysia while working at SG with pay of 2800 SGD? No experience on this matter. |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ Jun 27 2018, 07:27 PM) I just worry my existing employer discovers my future employers details. My employment letter states i cannot join a rival/competitor company for 1 year which is what i plan to do if ur current contract says that becareful as the industry might be small enough ure bound to bump into ppl and then if really bad luck, actions can be taken against u |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Jun 28 2018, 10:20 AM) the contract says they can, but most of the time, they wont bother, unless u hold important business information that will determine their life and death.. of course, assuming ure not some big shot high visibility person and of course, it's ur decision - i met a friend who got terminated in 24 hours because of this and mind him he was not the highest profile person in the company and the former company just found out cause the new company and old company met at a biz lunch and discussed about someone joining and caught himits just there to scare you... |

QUOTE(knwong @ Jul 1 2018, 08:55 AM) 1. Cannot join competitor after resign from company company campus? that sounds kinda cool2. Intellectual properties (IP) generated by employees during their service with the company shall belong solely to the company 3. Not allow to have office romance (employee employer relationship) 4. Can only allow to stay in company campus throughout your 3 years contract. No communication with outside world . . These are some of the "unfair" employment contracts that I've encountered |
