Has anybody has experience that EP application rejected before.
My application was rejected after 1 week of application.
I checked on EPONLINE just now ,there is no reason stated.
In this case, am I able to appeal? or I lose the job?

Are you a new applicant or previously work in SG before?

You have to ask the company to appeal, not you...

New applicant for Ep. Got work in SG before, but it is 3 years ago(holding wp at the time), and work only about 2 months. No working afterwards until recent finally found a job. But Ep rejected after 1 week of application.

That’s not new application dy. Why work only 2 months last time? That leaves a bad taste in MOM don’t you think?
*
Yes, I have a very bad employment history.
That's a long story for me, 3 years ago, After I graduate, I applied a software engineer job at that company, done a programming test during the interview, Manager come in told me that the position was filled and intro a support role for me, said also will doing programming, they need someone with programming knowledge in the team...My bad, i said i can give it a try(hungry for job, thought that i can train my prgramming skills in this job too, maybe switch back to SE after 1 or 2 year), hr took my passport to photostat on the spot, and very fast, i received a call from hr told me that my wp application has been approved and sent me ipa letter. The next day i receive another job offer which is programmer role but already applied wp for this job so i give up the new offer. Then I proceed to the support job, work for 2 months, nothing is coding related, only customer service, can't get used to the job at all feel like i know nothing about this role, cant do it well because i was a programmer, and really don't like the job. For this job role, other than working the the company software product, i also need to perform windows disk clean up, defragment and even cleaning customer workstation and server room, feel this job no future for me, so decided to quit the job.
After I left the position, I got finding job but no luck, start to lose motivation, then i take a long break for 3 years. Until recently, in order to get back to my career, i start to study programming courses, take exam and get certified. And finally i was invited for a job interview as Software Engineer, passed their interview test and manage to get a good salary, about doubled of my previous job salary.
I feel like after all the past experience, finally my luck is coming.
I passed certification exam with good result, and the knowledge and skills gained also help to passed interviewer's test and landed me a job.
Unfortunately, dunno why the EP was rejected. Will reach out to hr tomorrow, hope everything can be sorted out this time.

I know how you feel, I am facing the similar experience...
Bro/sis here suggested me to use Monster and Linkedin .... I have tried Linkedin where it works to certain extend...
I have passed my first interview with CFO but cannot pass the second interview with his down line....i.e. you are better than me....
Since you got your offer, but just stuck on the EP concern; please do not give up, hope you can sort it out soon.
You know what you want to be in your life and that will drive you to success one day.
Good Luck !

Thanks, you know me well.
Don't worry, I won't give up easily since this is the only job offered and very important job to kick start my career.
I'm also prefer LinkedIn, as I also apply jobs through LinkedIn, even if I saw a job post on Jobstreet, I will search if the employer post the same job on LinkedIn, and apply it there.
Don't know why, after so many years using Jobstreet, sent a lot of application, but never invited for a single interview.
For Monster, there are too many irrelevant job ads and spam mails if you set your profile to public, even your profile visibility is hidden, recruiter still can reach you by email or calls, quite annoying for me, so I no longer using it.

Good Luck to your too. smile.gif

Hi guys, I got my pass approved. Waiting for them to advise. What should I do next? Think need medical check up and get the pass

Hope to gather with u all soon
*
Congratz~

Let me show you my experience on work pass issuance.

Once your application is approved, hr will give you an IPA letter.
You can use this IPA letter to rent a room now. Remember to ask the house owner to register you on HDB tenants website(Fin needed).
(For some new applicants FIN NO might be not available yet in the IPA letter, for this you might need to wait few days to 1 week for it to be available. For those who already have a FIN no, your fin no will be printed on IPA letter already.)

After getting IPA, hr will arrange a medical checkup for you, (for me, it is HIV Test and Chest X-Ray Test as stated in IPA letter. I went for the medical checkup at Raffles Medical.)
Then wait few days for the report to be sent to your employer or some might need you to collect it yourself.

After getting the medical report, hr will request your work pass to be issue. you need to provide a valid white card which you currently holding and an address(if landlord already register you on HDB, then just give hr this address, If not , or you don't stay in SG, you can ask hr to use company address instead).

A notification letter will be available in this stage, you can use this notification letter to stay and work in sg now. This notification letter also be use to enter and exit Singapore before getting your work pass, so no more needed to fill white card, but please keep the white card which you give hr for work pass issuance.

Lastly, HR will make an appointment for card registration, you need to go down to MOM to take photo and register your fingerprint. Submit all the required documents as stated in the appointment letter's checklist, your white card will be collect by MOM.

That's all, just wait few working days then your work pass will be delivered to your company address.

Thanks for this. The white card can be used to enter and do medical check up and collect medical report right?
*
depends, if you come in SG without exit until you get the notification letter, then you use the same white card for work pass registration. if you keep enter and exit in the period(like me), then you use the latest valid white card that you enter at the time your hr request MOM for work pass issuance, and give MOM that white card during registration.
*correct me if wrong

Is it difficult to get a job in Singapore with a Malaysia public universities' degree in Engineering or Computer Science?
*
Yes, it is difficult, but sometimes it depends on luck. some people keep apply for months but no single reply, some was invited for interview very soon after graduate.
And also which job did you apply? software developer? tester? support?...etc. since you are graduate from computer science. The difficulty may vary for different roles.
BTW, If you are in doubt that your institute not enough to help you stand out from the competition, you may study and earn some professional certificate to boost your profile.

Hi, any programmer or software engineer here? I need your opinion. I am a fresher in the industry. Was employed about 2 months, still in probation, current employer gave me job position as a Software developer, before I join, she keep mentioned that I score quite high for the programming test and assign me to their development team, but all the task given to me are only dealing with data, copy paste, prepare and importing data into system . No programming, no uml...etc. and my senior told me that the development also not involve programming, mostly building frontend by using the software product's drag and drop function. I feel that I am not doing the job I want, every single minutes in the office was hard to pass, and always feel sleepy doing the task given. Was suppose to doing software development , with diagram tools, documents, ide...etc.

Actually this is not my first job, previously work as a support for only 3 months which is very bad employment history, which I applied and invited for interview for software engineer role, but at the end offer me support role, I left the job because I want to work as software engineer. In order to find a SE job,I study, take exam and acquired Oracle Java Certified programmer and finally found desire job which is current job position but end up to have this problem.

Although current employer was better than previous one, with proper job title, 2x of salary and gave me EP(previous wp). But really feel frustrated doing the task given, actually I am worry about by career future. Should I tell Manager about this, is it possible to change to another position or team on this timing? Will I fail my probation if I tell them? Or Should I just bear with it and resign after 1 year? Does any of you have similar experience?

Hi everyone and good day,

i may sounds not appropriate to ask this questions here

is it true now SG gov just strict their rules on hiring foreigners?

i've applied many applications in jobstreet thru recruitment firm it seems doesnt help me at all even i've tried to lowered my expected salary.

additional notes:

sometimes they reply my email only shortlisted candidate will be notified.

or my assuming maybe because its already year end not the right time hiring?
*
Not true, It is the recruiter who decide whether you are shortlisted or not and it is NORMAL that you submitted a bunch of application but get only few or no response at all.

I think you can try using other jobs portal if no luck on jobstreet. I have the similar experience which I tried applying on jobstreet for years but never getting any opportunity for interview. You may try linkedin and monster, I highly recommend on LinkedIn. You may also email to the company's recruit division directly for job inquiry or apply through their company career site if they have.

I think what you can do now is try to polish your resume more and keep applying, don't give up. GOOD LUCK.

hi sifus, i have just got an interview in Singapore on last friday, and the boss ask if i can work immediately while waiting for the permit from MOM, as they said the process may take months. They said they can put me into some sort of internship first, until the approval of the permit. I am very willing to work immediately, but im worried this may put me in trouble if i got caught by the singapore government? Can any sifus provide some opinion on this, as i have no experience about things in Singapore. thx!!

You can try Citibank,UOB and HSBC, they seems to have lower requirements for foreigners.
I have 1 Citibank CC in hand which the minimum income requirement is 42k annually.

Hi anyone have any idea on how CBS report calculate the credit score, my recent Uob credit card application was rejected and when I check my CBS report, I was getting a score of FF. Seems to be very bad score. But I did paid my credit card bill on time, sometimes 2 days after the statement release. In the report , Under Aggregate outstanding balances, there is only one column have information - 'Unsecured Balances Non-Interest Bearing', showing my monthly statement amount from my credit card.the rest all zero

The record maintain for 6 month.

Actually I'm always paid on time , right after my cc bill generated. That's why I find it weird to received score of FF and rejected for new cc application.
I'm just check again on CBS today and the new score is BB, seems ok this time, but dunno how it calculate.
