Check your PM smile.gif

btw guys for opening bank account, proof of address documents, can I use certificate of stamp duty for room rental? They don't accept room rental agreement and I don't have phone bill statement because I'm using prepaid now as it's paid by company previously. The bank staff wasn't very sure and ask me to bring it over to try.

since you said you worked previously, you must have had a bank account. why not just use your bank's  monthly statement?
*
Erm, nope I dint work permanently previously at Singapore. All the time is business trip to Singapore, so company decided to transfer me here permanently.

For me, I opened up an account in OCBC. They accept rental agreement with cert of stamp duty.
POSB die die need to have phone bill which I'm also using prepaid. They say try ask Telcos to provide me a letter the prepaid belongs to me.
Anyhow, u can personally go to the bank branch and ask around, some can open up with company recommendation etc.
*
Hi, thats great to hear. I went to OCBC near raffles place, at first i show the rental agreement, he say they dont accept rental agreement then I recall my agent send me a screenshot of the stamp duty cert so I show to the staff, he say he cant confirm but he ask me to bring original copy over and he will help me to check with his superior. Going to try to open tomorrow by using cert of stamp duty. By the way, do I need to bring 1k cash for opening account or I only require to bank in later after opening the account? The staff ask me to bring my EP, Malaysia IC and proof of address only for OCBC 360 account.

Hi, I remember that sgd1k need to bank in immediately

Now ocbc360 account benefit has shrink, do you survey other similar bank accounts have the same feature such as stanchart and uob?
*
Hi, just open my account today, not require the SGD 1,000 on the spot as long as you bank in within a week will be sufficient.

I did not survey much but mostly get opinion from my friends, colleagues and bosses who worked here, all suggest me to open OCBC 360 accounts thus I just go with that. By the way, by using certificate of stamp duty is sufficient enough to open bank account at OCBC.

Must throw away the box. You use bus, when the officer see your luggage or bag will ask you to X-ray scan them

What electronics item is that?
*
Bought a HTC vive during 1 year anniversary, never thought of custom when bring back that time. It should be fine if I bring back the empty box another time right?

now even foreigners can use the automated gates? i just came back from singapore for vacation and when i was passing through immigration the officer directed me to the automated gate which i thought was for singapore pr / citizen only. and i managed to pass through without surrendering the departure card.
*
QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Apr 18 2017, 10:26 AM)
yeah i worked in sg before but the officer couldn't have known...i was like heading to the ALL PASSPORT queue like a normal tourist and the officer just directed me to the automated gate. maybe they have upgraded their system and we are like the "white mouse" trying out their new upgrade?
*
QUOTE(Blues89 @ Apr 18 2017, 10:40 AM)
thats weird lol...so white card useless d?
*
Yeap, thats why now when you enter Singapore, you have to scan both hand finger, so if you did the scanning when you leave Singapore you can use the autogate and white card not require to return anymore. Last month when I went back, the officer is asking anyone who scanned their finger when come in should try the automated gate as its much faster.

QUOTE(JurgenKlopp69 @ Apr 18 2017, 07:49 PM)
Just remove all the wrappings/box plastic bag & put the electronic item in your bag instead .. act like u have been using for quite a while already then u shld be fine ... remember to tear/remove away the price tag as well ! biggrin.gif
*
Ok,I guess I have to do that. Next time if i just bring my empty box back without anything inside should be ok right?

When you guys opening bank account, do your need the utility bill/tenancy agreement with your name on it?
*
I just open bank account recently, if you rented a room through agent, you can request Certificate of Stamp Duty from your agent. They don't accept rental agreement but they allow to use letter provided by your company HR too.

Hi bros

Just wanna ask you guys did anyone applied for EP recently?I  signed the offer letter and the company is currently processing my EP.they submitted last week on Thursday but whenever I check online the status is still pending.(i check every 4 hours  😭).How long normally we will know the result?
*
I just got mine at end of march, it took around 5 working days. No need to check every 4 hour, if I'm not wrong they update every night, so just check on morning. Last time when I check around 5-6pm its pending but next day early morning I check, it become approved.

How did u check ur ep status? I thought HR handle ur application? Did they provide u some pin number after applying in ur behalf?
*
I google "Employment Pass Status" then I fill in the field accordingly. It's recommend you keep check yourself and update HR about it, my HR did not check my status, I let them know it's approved they only aware of it and help me to process IPA.

You can still possibly save up in SGD to the amount of your Malaysia salary. Don't worry haha.

yeap, luckily the offer is slightly more than 1:1 of my Malaysia salary.

QUOTE(ThanatosSwiftfire @ May 16 2017, 08:48 AM)
Then why u accept it leh?
*
Much better opportunity as my task is project based, so if I finish my singapore project I might not able come here if there is no other project require me. and Singapore Team is mainly working on international project so it's not only within asia but includes europe and others.

https://eponline.mom.gov.sg/epol/PEPOLUAMT0...isplayAction.do

beside ur passport/IC number and full name, it requires FIN as well right ?
*
This website https://eponline.mom.gov.sg/epol/PEPOLENQM0...isplayAction.do

Nope, FIN not require. First you need to enter your Malaysia IC number, and if I remember correctly, it will prompt your passport for verification.

1st is FIN
2nd is travel doc
3rd is application number

so u chose the 2nd one right?

sorry noob dare not try in advance scared it will affect my application ==

Yeap, correct.

No worry, this is just checking for application status so it wont affect your application.
