1. I will share, if he asked to. This is actually depends on the person himself.
2. You take 1:1 salary range with MY salary la. But usually kinda hard. I only manage to get 1:1 my last MY drawn salary after being here for 1.5 years...
*
I am 4 years here and not even one to one yet lol

QUOTE(Ralna @ May 8 2017, 11:03 PM)
I've been applying for jobs in SG for the past one week. Applied 18 on Jobstreet, 12 were rejected so far. Applied & the next day got rejected as "not suitable" though I am qualified for the position. Those employers didn't even view my resume. I suspect they are hiring only Singaporeans or PRs.

FYI, my Jobstreet resume is impressive. I've been headhunted 10 times in Malaysia (since 2016 to date) coz local employers saw my Jobstreet & LinkedIn profiles and they contacted me to offer me different positions. Yet, those applications for SG jobs are unsuccessful. According to my recruiter friend, SG companies have tightened their hiring policies & unemployment rates among their locals are high now.

Anyway, I was just trying coz my bf is a PR there; I just wanna be with him & develop an international career. I have an outstanding career here in M'sia & would like to progress even further. Anyway, it's time to try a different strategy to job hunt.  cool2.gif

Headhunted 10 times? At final stage of interview with salary offered already?

I think la at least for my field. Beyond 5k is moving to assistant manager level and up.

on my field, even engineer is paid beyond ur assistant manager... They are just titles, you will have all these nice titles if you are on banking or consultant lines, just to impress your customers

With or without phone?

What do you need? Phone calls? No need?

Anyway... For the best coverage and service uptime, I suggest you go with SingTel. Once you are on SingTel you can't go to other Telco. The coverage for the other 2 just totally lose out.

Agree and it do come with price... Highest cost as well...

Hi, i have submitted my PR application in Oct 2017 and it is pending decision till today..

I have just paid my income tax recently and was wondering if its necessary to personally update/inform ICA on this? As previously during my submission date i have not had any tax NOA before so i had none to submit back then.

QUOTE(James1983 @ May 8 2019, 05:22 PM)
It depends on how high you are paid in Msia.

There is not set rule of thumb, don’t listen to those that suggest 70% or 80% etc. It’s completely bs, because it does not scale with level of seniority.

Based on market rate, fresh grad can get 1:1, but as you go up to Head of Dept level, you’ll notice it is near impossible, because of the local market rate. High level position in SG does not pay dollar to dollar as MY. Example HoD level in MNC Malaysia might earn 20-30k, but SG usually is 15-20k, above that is usually VP level already.

You can refer to many of recruitment agencies salary guide.

The best way is compare with the “‘local market rate”. That is for your type of role, and level in Singapore, what is the market range of salary there. Make sure that you are within that range, ideally above the average.
*
Vice versa, if moving back from SG to KL then? I shall expect 1:3 ? 😂

1 to 3 is super rare. realisticly, in my field, im looking for jobs in KL/PJ at abt 1:1.8/2.

pay currently abt s$90k (7.5kpm), hunting for rm160k (13kpm) to rm180k (15kpm) excluding bonuses. seems quite possible from the jobs out in the market.

Good to hear that

QUOTE(Crossbone @ Jun 8 2019, 04:23 PM)
hi everyone,

have a question abt ROM in singapore, both me and my wife are foreigners working in SG. I was wondering if we should register our marriage in SG. We already registered in Thailand( her nationality is thai).

This is done in consideration of PR application down the road. My friends told me it would build a stronger profile for our application, but the ROM fees is $380 for foreigners here, which is quite pricey.

do you think i should go for the SG marriage registration at this stage, or its unnecessary? I heard being a malaysian chinese, my approval rate is on the high side, if so, this ROM seemed unnecessary to me(until i get my PR).
