Sharing experince for Waja (which is similar to Persona brake system). Happened to change rotor & brake pad at outside workshop, braking effect was 'slippery' and spongy.a) slippery effect - longer braking distance due to bedding in of new brake pad and new rotor. After 100+ km, will back to normal.
b) spongy effect. brake system got air. Technique for brake bleeding is very important. The mechanic need to make sure that during 'pumping' brake pedal, the bleed valve is fully closed. Some mechanic do not close the bleed valve completely during 'pumping' to enable them easier to open the valve during 'full press' process.
Process for bleeding:
1. Pump several times brake pedal. Ensure bleed valve 100% closed.
2. Press brake pedal fully with medium force and bleed valve is opened.
If bleed valve is not fully closed during process (1), air will be induced into the system. Even slight air will cause the pedal feel spongy.
If the technique is wrong, going back to the same workshop will still be the same even mutiple times bleeding done. Then went to Proton Service Centre to do bleeding and then back to normal.
If SC busy (esp Sat), they lazy to entertain such small job.Now DIY, learnt from Internet, tht why manage to spot the mistake.
Hope it helps to clarify your query.
