2 choices: i5 or Ryzen 5. If your "editing" includes video editing then Ryzen 5 with more cores & threads will certainly benefit you more.
GTX1070/1080/1080Ti/Titan XP/Xp are recommended to pair with i7, i5 bottlenecks them unfortunately in some CPU demanding titles.

What about mobo and ram? hmm.gif Can Ryzen 5 fit into my budget for all?

EDIT: Only found one thread selling Ryzen 5. Tried check around forum and lowyat but don't sell anymore. sweat.gif

Can, Ryzen is having a much lower price tag per core/thread count to beat Intel's pricing after all.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (6C12T 3.4G/3.6G) - RM 1019
ASRock AB350 Pro4 - RM 469 (ATX)
MSI B350M Gaming Pro - RM 435 (mATX)

Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 550

Total up will be around 2k (price from Techview).
*
Which benefit me most in terms of all round since I'm doing editing and gaming at the same time? hmm.gif

ATX one comes with more RAM slots, SATA ports, PCIe slots, USB ports etc but you need to make sure your casing supports ATX mobo first before you make the purchase.
*
Is CM690 compatible? Actually I am planning to change my casing also cause just the casing alone is already almost 5kg. sad.gif

Trying to find something really compact as my room shrink into small place and the casing is taking much of the space! cry.gif

[Budget] Around RM1.5k or less hopefully

[Purpose] Work, surf internet, movie, editing and gaming

[Hardwares that will be CHANGE] Proc and Mobo only. Others will be reuse.

[Monitor resolution] Samsung 23 inch

[Games & softwares that use frequently] M.Office, Illustrator, Games like COD or Steam

[Personal preferences] AMD or Intel also not an issue, as long as dont get overheat and give me more trouble will do.

[Location] KL

[Remark]
1) I was told to get Ryzen 5 1500.
2) Want to see what other mobo can go with Ryzen 5 and my existing Zotac GTX1050.
3) If there are any other combination that has minimum spending that would be good.

Don't recommend 1500 due to pricing too close to 1600. It has additional 2 core.

Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039
Asus Prime B350M-A (DDR4) - 445
*
Many thanks for the recommendations. Any other mobo that I can choose from other than the stated?

I will scouting my stuff from lazada to see whats the rough figure of both.

Can I know any proc that is compatible with this mobo? trying to leverage and see if I can save money from there instead of Ryzen 5 1600. laugh.gif

Any AMD AM4 CPUs. All AMD Ryzen is compatible. Ryzen 5 1600 is 6 core (8 core if you get lucky batch).
*
So the best bet is to get Ryzen 5 1600? Just checked with the potential seller, the batch is 6 core, not 8 core laugh.gif

Can I know which processor can go with this mobo? (already bought)

Asus Prime B350M-A | AM4 socket | 4DDR4 | mATX

I've been told to get Ryzen 5 1600 but due to budget constrain, it's hard to get it as this period of time. Is there any other cheaper alternative options compare to ryzen 5 1600?

I am with Zotac 1050 TI Mini as GPU.

AMD Ryzen 3 1200. The motherboard B350M does support overclocking.

From default 3.1 GHz up to 3.8 GHz.

After overclock is the performance close to Ryzen 5 1600? hmm.gif

PUBG? Nope. You have to dial down the settings for GTX 1050. Recommended for PUBG is GTX 1060 6GB if u want high settings.
*
I don't mind playing games with lowest settings as it could easier for me to see things that high graphics can't see. laugh.gif So 1050 is a little too hard for it even with lowest possible settings? hmm.gif

Yeah, you might have to live with very low settings.
https://www.techspot.com/article/1551-pubg-...arks/page3.html

You can try medium and see.
*
Many thanks. Seems like this game aren't suppose to play in high settings. hmm.gif Appreciate the feedback! laugh.gif notworthy.gif

Sorry to kacau again but I saw the link you posted earlier, it says is has to have 16GB of RAM to get the game to run smoothly. 8GB will have some performance issue or just pass at minimal? hmm.gif

Should have no problem as 8GB is listed as the minimum requirement.

Go for R3 1200 + GTX1050ti.

You can overclock the R3 1200 up to 3.8 GHz.

Wanna check wit you guys if I can go for 2133 mhz instead or is better to go for 2400mhz? The price difference not to say very significant but definitely hurting my wallet lol.

I'd advise against that, due to high chance of compatibility issues.
Even 8gb of different sticks of RAM may cause issues, the best way is to get a kit of two with the same GBs eg. 2x4gb, 2x8gb etc.
*
Thanks. My rig is mounting Ryzen 3 1300x and Asus Prime B350M-A

Is that compatible with the model below?

Geil Evo Spear 4GB DDR4 (2400MHz) Single Channel Kit - GSB44GB2400C17SC

Planning to get two stick for it from lelong.

Can anyone suggest me a cheap casing? Preferably something that doesn't transmit the electricity laugh.gif Also, will the capacity of the PSU affect the choice of selection I can have for casing? hmm.gif

Looking at this A, this B, this C, this D. Anyone by any chance using it?
