I am looking for an ATX form factor actually. Also seems like H370 has PCIe 4x on the M.2 slot.
If were to choose from the H370 above, which would be the better one?

Thanks smile.gif

Mobo: GIGABYTE X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI (any better suggestion?)
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU : MSI GTX 1070 TI ARMOR 8G
RAM : G.Skill - Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (this good enough?)
SSD : Samsung 850 Evo 250gb
Casing : Fractal Define R5 silent
PSU : Corsair TX750M / EGVA SUPERNOVA 750W / SUPER FLOWER LEADEX 750W (which one more preferred?)
Cooler : Noctua NH-D15

Which item listed should i change for better value? Thanks.

[Personal preferences]
No need RGB, can last long more than 4 years above, prefer silent
*
The cooler is not necessary since the one come with the processor is good enough
As for the PSU, the super flower i guess?
Ya, the flare X is the one to go
I think so? smile.gif

Thank you very much on the suggestion above. Will go for it.

May I know is 75Hertz Monitor ( LG29WK600 ) is sufficient for gaming? PUBG, FPS Game? I really love the ultra wide screen, but if this UW screen is bad for FPS gaming, maybe the only way I can is downgrade to Dell 24" 144Hertz IPS.

Would like to hear from you all again, thank you
*
afaik, there is no 144hz ips from dell. Only TN
Also I think no 24 inch ips with 144hz as of now. Only 27 inch

Here is a few suggestion:
Acer XB271HU
Asus PG279Q
Viewsonic XG2703-GS

All the above is 1440p 144Hz (Oc to 165Hz) 27 inch IPS

If 24 inch Dell, you have the S2417DG (TN)

how about if im doing video editing and FPS games like bf1 and upcoming bfV which monitor should i get  sweat.gif budget around 1K sharp..
*
If video editing then u can find some IPS panel. If casual gaming then 60hz will do. Should be able to fit your price point with the spec.

Only temporary. I will upgrade when i have the money.
*
Actually z370 is top end chipset which aim towards the 8700K and 8600k chips
As for your 8400, a B360 board is more than enough for it and half the price of the motherboard u opt for.
Or u plan to buy a 8600k/8700k/8086k in the future?

QUOTE(lsm1991 @ Jun 25 2018, 12:42 PM)
alright.. so managed to lock these down

ryzen 5 2600x = 900
g.skill trident z 16gb 3200MHz = 890
galax 1070 ti exoc snpr = 1990
super flower leadex silver 550w = 285
gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 = 415
tecware void = 275 (yes rubbish airflow, but so pretty)
4755, other than obscene ram prices, rest of the bits were cheaper (slightly) than expected.

now im left with storage....
not sure if this is the right thread to ask about the minor details like this, but why on earth is samsung's ssd's a whole ton more expensive!?
im assuming for a gaming machine, i can save some $$$ here and get an ssd with decent reads but slower writes?
anyone have any opinions these:
Apacer AS340
GALAX 240GB GAMER L
*
There is tecware neo dual tg that has a better airflow. may check it out.
As for storage not sure.

Appreciate the reply. Regardless, i thought of getting a nzxt h500 pc case because i really like the design & to motivate me to save enough to build my very first gaming rig! Getting a pc case beforehand should be somewhat 6months-ish-future-proof right? since it is just a hardware and wont be so affected so much like software.
*
Well, the case price will drop as time goes
So depend on u actually

Thanks for the feedback @helldana and @neverfap. I just got a little too excited for this project.  rclxm9.gif
*
Glad you are excited about it smile.gif
As Krystal said, if it can really motivate you then go for it haha
Or maybe you can set a target on how much money to save every month. That helps a lot too

Does it means despite I'm playing on low setting or ultra setting, my FPS will always be at 60fps?
*
U can play on higher fps (Given that your game/setting doesnt cap the fps).
The higher the smoother of coz.

Even if you play it on 60 hz monitor, 100 fps will still be smoother than 60 fps. Just that it wont be as smooth as you play it on 144hz monitor.

Guys, are there any other decent choices other than Aorus z370 Gaming 7?
*
Asus ROG Maximus X Hero
Asrock Z370 Taichi

These 3 are almost similar. In the end depend on your choice

Gaming 7:
1. Best VRM (said the internet) but can be a bit hot.
2. RGB all the way. No less only more

Maximus X Hero:
1. Best looking board imo
2. Asus Aura Sync. All RGB sync together. (Asus GPU, many ram support it, cooler too)
3. Its Asus

Taichi
1. One of the best overclock board (12 phase) you can find out there. Of coz the other 2 (10 phase) is also good. In the end, it just depend on how much your chip can achieve.
2. Minimal looking.
3. Cheapest among the 3

Aorus Gaming 7 RM 1012
Maximus X Hero RM 1197
Taichi RM 876

Or Asrock Z370 Professional Gaming i7 (Similar with Taichi but with 10 Gigabit internet) Around RM1151

Tbh for me, rgb is not a concern... My pc is on the floor and sticking to the left wall... So.. Can't see anything also haha 😂
And I doubt I'm gonna OC.. Dont know how and not sure if I need it
*
Hmmm, then u should get a locked chip (non k e.g: 8700, 8600, 8500, 8400) and get a b360 board will do smile.gif

What do you guys think about the following build?

INTEL CORE I7 8700K Delid
CRYORIG R1 UNIVERSAL
MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon
GSKILL TridentZ RGB 2x8GB DDR4 2666mhz (CL18)
Gigabyte Gaming OC 8G RTX 2080
FSP Hydro PTM 750 (80+Platinum/Full MODULAR)
Sharkoon TG5 Tempered Glass RGB
SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 NVME 500GB SSD (3400/2300)
SEAGATE 2TB Barracuda ST2000DM008 (7200RPM/256MB)
Current monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU, 2560*1440, 165hz OC
Hope to run 1440p, 144hz max settings in latest games.

I was having a hard time selecting cpu cooler, which RTX 2080 GPU and Z370 motherboard.  blush.gif

Appreciate some views please =)
*
Why not AIO? Like the NZXT X62
If Air cooler can consider Noctua NH D15/Be Quiet DarkRock Pro 4

Just FYI, 2080 will be available on the 20th of September.
As Krystal mentioned, you can just go for 3200Mhz or even 3600 Mhz ram since u already go all out.
GPU doesn't really matter i think. As for the mobo, you can choose between Aorus Gaming 7 or Maximus X Hero. Or Taichi if aesthetic is not your primary concern.

Okay thanks for the suggestion. 2666 to 3200 about RM150 more I can consider that.
I am not very particular about aesthetic but Noctua's colour is just off.  sweat.gif
Also trying to keep cost low, so went for air cooling instead of liquid. In addition, I prefer zero maintenance. Air cooling may not be much worse than liquid I suppose?

Aorus Gaming 7 seems like not too much more expensive than my current pick. Can consider too.  thumbup.gif
*
Yep. AIO after few years need to change. Air cooler just clean the dust will do
If you plan to keep cost low then you can consider Z370 Taichi. Also, 2080 coming next month = SST.
Also, You can maybe build your rig first then wait for the 2080 after that?
As for the ram if you wanna save some cost, you can go for GSkill SniperX 3200. No RGB but cheaper

Currently have 250GB SSD in my rig. Almost used up after 3 months.
Its better to have a 1TB HDD in there for file storage smile.gif
Or 500 SSD if u want
