RM100 more for 100mhz. I think its worth it. But 9600K is not worth it due to no stock cooler.  Viewnet and C-Zone listing 9600K, 9700K and 9900K.
*
Do you think I should even try looking at i7? Or the i5s are good enough and I should save for a better GPU?

Current Intel processor stock for i5 and i7-8700k is almost run dry, do check with shop you plan to buy and build accordingly. Most shop will now require bundle purchase if you buying intel processor.

I managed to secure 1 unit of I5-9600k for about RM1159, still decent price I guess...

Hi guys, planning on getting a new pair of ram with faster speeds.
Currently looking at :
1) HyperX Fury 3466Mhz 8gb x 2
2) HyperX Predator 3600Mhz 8 gb x 2

The fury is cheaper but has slightly slower speed, any other recommendations? I dont mind not having rgb since my mobo has no rgb header or function and cant sync with the rest of my system, just need black color ram to fit the overall look of my built (black and white).

Below are my current specs:
Intel core i5-9600k
MSI GTX1070 ti Duke
Asrock z370m Pro4 mobo
ID Cooling Chromaflow 240
Samsung 860 EVO 250gb
WD Blue 1TB HDD
WD Green m.2 SSD 128gb
HyperX Fury 2400Mhz 8gb x 2
EVGA 650 GD

p/s: I wanna upgrade ram speed because it's vital in providing better fps in competitive PUBG. It's proven that upgrading to more than 3200Mhz can get up to extra 20fps in competitive match.

Whats the price difference between the two of them? If not much, then just go for 3600Mhz. But if the difference is a lot, then just go for 3466Mhz as the performance gain between the two won't justify the top up price.

Price difference is about RM200 so quite a lot actually, in terms of performance couldn't find much video on them. Any other affordable high speed ram u would recommend?

Go for the 3466Mhz if the difference is RM200. What are the prices for each of them anyway?
*
best I've found on Shopee:
HyperX Predator 3600Mhz 8gb x 2 = RM810
HyperX Fury 3466Mhz 8gb x 2 = RM610
HyperX Predator RGB 3600Mhz 8gb x 2= RM745 / RM 730

Few questions:
1) How come same model ram but RGB one cheaper? sweat.gif
2) How come same shop can sell package ram (x2) more expensive than sell individually? Like the RGB ram, for package deal (ram x2) it's RM745, but buy individually it's RM365 per stick, so it's RM730 if buy 2 sticks individually. Doesnt make sense sweat.gif
3) What will happen if I use an RGB ram on my non rgb support mobo? Will the rgb still work? Can i configure the lighting effects using my mobo software? Or do I have no choice but to live with the rgb and not able to configure it?

Yeapp this is what I found on Shopee too: https://shopee.com.my/HYPERX-PREDATOR-RGB-1...9688.1703144817

1) Good question, gotta ask supplier.
2) Package rams usually meant for dual channel. If you get 2x single stick, there are possibility that you won't have it work in dual channel.
3) The RGB will still work and you can still configure the lighting effects through HyperX's software.
*
then I might as well get the rgb version right? it's essentially the same thing. I don't think HyperX's software can control the ram lighting though, searched online have to use mobo software. Since my mobo has no rgb header or support, will I still be able to configure the lighting through Asrock rgb software?

Yeappp if its cheaper and has RGB, why not?  rclxms.gif Not too sure bout HyperX software, don't own any of their products. Maybe someone else could answer you. My brother uses a Asus Prime B350 Plus, it doesn't have any RGB header as well but he is able to control his G.Skill Trident Z RGB using Aura Sync. According to HyperX's official page, it is supported by Asrock's RGB software too.
*
nvm, just found out that my mobo has no support for asrock rgb software sad.gif
https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z370M%20Pro...ex.asp#Download

GOD DAMN IT, why is the rgb one cheaper bangwall.gif If i get it it's gonna mess up the theme of my built bangwall.gif

Fury have high latency, CL19-23-23 @ 3466mhz
Predator lower latency, CL17-18-18 @3600mhz
Because of lower bandwidth, Fury latency is actually much higher than Predator.

Lower latency will help to get more fps
*
Thanks for the input man, the predator sounds like a better option but the non RGB version is so much more expensive and I can't configure the lightings cuz my mobo has no RGB support.
Any other ram you recommend? For something about 3200mhz.

Hi guys, I'm planning to upgrade my mobo. Need one that can support ram speed 3600mhz and need to have rgb software so I can sync my fans, AIO cooler, ram etc.
Currently looking at the MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC, about RM900 but I'm thinking that it might be an overkill for my I5-9600k. Should I just stick with Z370 or pay more for Z390 for future proofing? Any recommendations based on my specs below?

Current Specs:
Intel Core i5-9600k
MSI GTX 1070 Ti Duke
Asrock Z370M Pro4 mobo
ID Cooling Chromaflow 240
HyperX Predator RGB 3600mhz 8gb x 2
WD Blue 1TB HDD
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB
Samsung 860 EVO 250gb
Apacer Panther 120gb SSD
EVGA 650 GD
Tecware Nexus TG Black

PUBG loves faster ram speed, get 3000mhz dual channel ram for better fps, 3600mhz if u have the budget.
If u have the budget, upgrade these parts:
Ram 3000mhz
PSU
Monitor, get Acer KG241QP, 144hz 1ms monitor, only about RM70 extra.

Hey guys, this may be out of topic but if I want to buy a gaming desktop directly from a brand like Dell, Acer, which one would you recommend? Reason being is that I don't want to deal with the after sales service if anything happens to one of the components of the custom built PC.
*
Honestly not worth it bro. Even if u buy from Dell, Acer etc also need to deal with them for after sales service what tongue.gif
Better to just customize ur own pc based on budget & performance, and get everything built at one pc shop so warranty the shop can help u handle.

Anywhere you can recommend in PJ area to get it done with reasonable price and reliable service?
*
My favourite shop is Techview Sdn Bhd. They're located in PJ and they're shop is quite big and spacious. There's a few demo pc there u can try out and a lot of pc components for u to shop around. Their staffs are quite nice, prices are reasonable too, I definitely recommend them.
You can also check them out at shopee or Facebook, just google their shop name.

wow thanks for your reply. In that case I would like to check how much I can get from these requirements:

Budget: RM3K for PC
Purpose: surfing, watching movies, gaming (mostly MMORPG and some RPGs)
Monitor Resolution: also looking - range from RM400~RM500
Personal Preferences: right now im using Lenovo Y520P. of course would like better performance than my laptop.
Location: PJ.
*
Better just message them on Facebook and ask for quotation. Pretty sure they're running a rm3k promo rig for May as well.

Maybe that guy is new then. Not sure. Or he didn’t had enough sleep the day before lol. If you’d still like to give E Tech a chance, you can try looking for Bob. He’s pretty friendly and professional and a senior there (if not manager. Don’t know his exact position).

No TechView is near to the MCDs in SS2. They’re at one of the houses nearby there.
*
bro they moved from SS2 to PJS 51 long time ago haha. My first PC bought from them at SS2 and after that I visit them 3,4 times at their new shop. Their new shop is much bigger and nicer with demo pcs ranging from RM3k to RM20k. They also sell a lot more accessories now, always enjoy my visit to their shop. Compared to going to Idealtech's shop so messy and barely anything to look see look see tongue.gif

Isn't it near the rear fans that suck the hot air out? Then it would be illogical to even do that. If it's placed further and I could believe it but this is beside each other. Common sense la.

Oh nice about techview. Let me check the specs.

Edit: saw the specs. They never write the brand of the graphic cards. Is it important to have a reliable brand? Also, ram is 2666mhz. I'm aiming for at least 3K. Do you think the difference would be huge?
*
There's always gonna be spec limit for budget builts, maybe just ask them for small upgrades on the original specs. Techview is honestly one of the best PC shops I've been to.

Ok I will go and visit. After sales service seems good. Free pick up also.
They sell monitors too right.

Ya after sales service is good. After I bought my first pc there I go there for regular maintenance + upgrade.
Yes they do sell monitors, can check their shopee. They normally have cheaper price for walk in customers.
