QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 17 2017, 07:53 PM) Budget too low for recommended spec which is GTX 1060 6GB. How about these? AMD Ryzen 5 1400 - 819 Asus Prime B350M-A - 445 Corsair 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 368 Zotac GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 OC - 789 WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 210 Corsair VS 550W - 248 Tecware Edge case - 199 RM3078 total (C-Zone prices) Wouldn't it be better to get i5-7400 instead of AMD?

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Nov 18 2017, 12:17 PM) u wan for pure gaming get intel.. for work n game get ryzen.. intel i5 4 core 4 thread only.. ryzen hv more cores n threads if u wan play PUBG i suggest u add another 500 into budget.. dual channel ram can giv u better FPS, n minimum need hybrid HDD.. if not lag till u cry le I have no experience using ryzen CPUs that's why I'm a bit skeptical. What if I take i3-8100 & GTX1060 3GB as supposed to i5-7400 & 1050Ti? Would that be a better combo?

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Nov 21 2017, 02:05 PM) still lose to ryzen 5... only i7-8700k can head on ryzen r7 1700x... the rest still lose to ryzen in gaming + rendering performance.. QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 21 2017, 02:31 PM) I still have yet to bump into game lag since switching to Ryzen 7 1700 from i7-4790K. Buttery smooth gaming. I didn't even overclock it yet. Try Asus Z370 TUF Plus at RM799. Ya but I have limited budget and so far only considering i5-7400 or i3-8100 :/ I've already increased my budget a little bit to get 1060 3gb so need save on CPU lol

QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 21 2017, 03:38 PM) i3-8100 is faster but u have to buy Z370 motherboard which is expensive. Unless you can wait till next year with proper date for Coffee Lake budget motherboards. Yup I understand. But I got this quote from Tech View IT which I think is pretty reasonable: Intel i3 8100 Processor Asrock Z370M-Pro4 Motherboard Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 2400Mhz Ram WD 1TB BLUE HDD Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX1060 3GB Graphic Card Corsair VS450 Power Supply Tecware F3 Casing RM2850 I think this is a pretty solid budget built and should handle pubg just fine right? QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 24 2017, 03:45 PM) No idea. But yeah, trial is free. What's the difference between trial and full? And is it worth it to pay 300-500 to get the full version?

Hey guys, planning on getting a budget liquid cooler for my rig. I'm using an i3-8100 & GTX1060 in a compact tecware Nexus m case. Now I understand that it's not necessary for an i3 to get liquid cooling but I just wanna get one to try out and for aesthetic purposes. Currently looking at ID Cooling Frostflow 120 which is around RM170++. Not too bad, but hoping for recommendations so I can look at more choices. Will 240 fit my system? Considering my case is so small & company.

QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 7 2018, 12:33 PM) Ya I know it can, but I wonder if it'll block my motherboard and some of my cables, making the whole PC look messy. Anyways, I'm up for any recommendations for liquid cooling as long as the price is right. About rm150-rm300

QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 7 2018, 03:23 PM) Then go for 120mm like ID Cooling Frostflow 120mm at around RM170, Thermaltake Water 3.0 X120 at RM219. But based on ur experience is there any disadvantage for having everything so compact in a small case? Do u recommend to do so? Or safer to just go for the 120mm?

QUOTE(TristanX @ Dec 13 2018, 11:37 AM) WD Green may be giving you stutters due to no DRAM cache. Try Core i5-8500 - 899 Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIE - 299 GTX 1060 6GB is under recommended system requirements. Unless your monitor is 1440p or higher. So should I load my games into the apacer SSD instead? Cuz the WD green I just used it for less than a month, don't plan to upgrade it anytime soon So u recommend to upgrade my CPU only? Can I get a decent upgrade on my GPU + CPU with around 2.5k - 3k? I'm using 1080p 144hz monitor. This post has been edited by ace-user: Dec 13 2018, 11:50 AM

QUOTE(TristanX @ Dec 13 2018, 11:51 AM) Doesnt make much difference. Majority of super cheap SSDs does not come with DRAM cache. Even Patriot Burst comes with only 32MB cache. Yes, CPU only. Like I said, unless your monitor is 1440p or higher. https://www.techspot.com/article/1551-pubg-...ics-benchmarks/Add Galax GTX 1070 EXOC at RM1899 from Viewnet if RM3k. Tbh I don't know much about PC hardware, which is why I opt for cheap SSDs, didn't know it would make much difference. What about if I go all out for the new RTX2070 mini? Saw that it's around 2.3k, if I get that plus upgrade i5 it would be around 3.2k.

QUOTE(zerohunter @ Dec 13 2018, 12:10 PM) ace-user imo your current gpu and cpu is capable to play the game smoothly, just add an ssd as your os, softwares, and games storage, hdd use for media storage. also u need to take note that most of the shop out there run out stock for most i5 especially the 8 series. even if they do, they will require u to buy combo with mobo. if u want u can try your luck buying the cpu only online. of course, if u have 2k to spend, i recommend u get an ssd and for gpu, go for msi gtx1070ti gaming around rm2150 viewnet, i would say msi frozr cooling system is the best among, it can run high rpm in low noise. Oh I have no problems running PUBG public games, but competitive gaming I only get 30-40fps mid to late game, super laggy and it's nearly impossible to shoot people lol. Which is why I'm planning to upgrade both GPU + CPU and I'm willing to spend 2k to 3k. Ya I read a lot that the i5s are out of stock everywhere. Maybe wait beginning of 2019 for newer release from Intel? Or is AMD a good option too? Do you recommend getting the RTX2070 mini? Since it's only about RM400 more than that 1070ti.

QUOTE(zerohunter @ Dec 13 2018, 12:21 PM) if u going for amd then u have to spend more for the mobo. if u willing to spend more to get the 2070 mini, might as well just go for a regular 2070. i personally don't like those 'mini' version. i haven't check online about the mini vs the regular but it gives me the feel that it performs lower than a regular card. u can get msi rtx2070 armor oc at around rm2500. Isn't my mobo compatible with AMD CPUs as well? :/ Afaik the minis are no less powerful that the normal versions but if its 2.5k can consider just getting the normal version. Now another problem after upgrading is where to offload my old CPU and GPU haha This post has been edited by ace-user: Dec 13 2018, 12:29 PM

QUOTE(zerohunter @ Dec 13 2018, 12:35 PM) No your mobo is compatible to socket 1151 cpu only, I think u misunderstanding it support amd GPU not CPU. U can sell off your old parts in the garage sales section, Carousell or mudah. Alright thanks for your suggestions, I'll do a little bit more research before I come to a decision, thanks bro!

Wanna future proof my CPU as much as possible hehe. Wanna get 9600k but no where to be found in Malaysia

QUOTE(TristanX @ Dec 13 2018, 03:55 PM) RM100 more for 100mhz. I think its worth it. But 9600K is not worth it due to no stock cooler. Viewnet and C-Zone listing 9600K, 9700K and 9900K. Intel's stock cooler is terrible anyways, and I'm using AIO water cooler. So I don't really mind it not having stock cooler haha. So should I get 9600k > 8600 > 8500?
