Hi Sifus, I'm planning to upgrade my cpu to 7800x3d and would like your recommendation for motherboards.

Looking for the best value and if not much price difference for future proofing may also consider. Wifi is not important for me as I use LAN cable for internet so if there's a cheaper one would be great as well.

Currently looking at MSI B850 Gaming plus wifi. TQ in advance.

Hmm..yeah I checked online and B650 seems like no difference from B850 aside from the wifi 7 and may need to update bios? but worth to get B850 for convenience?

Ignore. BIOS update is a big question mark. Better off getting a 5600G + MSI A520M-A Pro board for that purpose. You also save money from cheaper processor & RAM.
Intel has fewer performance cores. The rest are small cores that has no chance against even Zen 4C.  Having more cores also doesn't scale linearly.

why crap if only use for internet surfing? plan to pair with 8500G cpu. will use for 10 years. currently still using intel Core i5 2nd gen laptop.

Was planning to build a PC but saw this guy selling his old prebuilt Acer on FB marketplace. Went to his house to check out the PC and stress tested it on Furmark for around 30 minutes and it seems to be running fine. It is a 3 years old PC.

Asking price: RM 1450

It is a prebuilt though so the airflow ain't the best. If it gets too hot I will just transplant the parts into a new case with a new PSU and B550m Mobo. What do you guys think? Is it good value, average or bad value?

Thank you for the input. My budget was around 3000. Planning a build with i5-12400F/Ryzen 5 5600 with a 4060 class card. Upgrading from my old 1650 laptop.

I checked the pre-built and only the motherboard was proprietary but at least it has wifi and bluetooth built in. A B550M board would be around 400 in case the original motherboard fails so it's not too bad. Even the PSU is replaceable. I do have spare a spare PSU and a mATX case available in case I plan to transplant the whole thing into a new case.

Anyway I ended up buying it about an hour ago since it seems to still function really well. After reinstalling Windows and playing Marvel Rivals on it for 30 mins it seems to function well with the highest temps at around 78 degrees for both CPU and GPU. The jump from 1650 to 3060 TI is massive. For less than half of my original budget , I am pretty happy with the purchase.

Hey guys. I'd like to ask for some advice from all the sifus here in the forum.

I'm currently running

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: 4 x 8GB DDR4
Mobo: Gigabyte B550M DS3h
GPU: Zotac GTX1660 Super

I'm using a 1080p monitor at 60hz. I'm not looking to increase the resolution or frequency.

I'd like to ask if there is a point in upgrading the GPU to say an Arc B580 or similar. For gaming, mainly. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to get 60fps in 1080 at max settings in games like Expedition 33.

I know that my mobo is not the best and there's no VRM cooling so going for an AM4 X3D CPU may not be an option.

What is your opinion? Should I upgrade with a budget of maybe 2k to 3k?
