For my case, I dropped my Forest Blue XZ on the ground - was using the stand style cover - it came off and struck the floor - didn't break or crack but screen has light scratches..

Makes sense to go for XZs now - but.. no forest blue.

since when these 3 phone has warranty claim for water damage? did you even use anyone of these phone before?

I even have 2 full refund from them ....

what i know is since z1 era there is no warranty claim for water damage. not sure about z. so how did u get to claim is a mystery.

actually they have pressure tester, if pressure tester turn out that phone with pressure leak means it defect by default and allow us to claim warranty (that how IP rating work), but most customer service or tech they just lazy to do that and simply said there is no warranty on it ....
at the same time i help a lot Xperia Z1 user claim water damage in FB too ...

If pressure leak means the unit issue n no qualify for ip rating no matter we throw it in 100 feet or 1 ft water, warranty claimable for any water damage ....

Actually to make ur xperia z none water proof is pretty simple, just try to bend that phone a bit, u see back glass will pop out n all pressure leak..

actually they only started to use nanocoating on the jacks since Z5 onwards
before that all it did were just cover it with flaps

whereas HTC Desire Eye already had the flapless IPX7 water proof in 2014
