Hi , just recently i just got a karaoke and i have some karaoke cd.when i record in both multiple track , although the pitch is the same , i find that the voice didnt blend into the music as if it's louder then the music and not inside the music but on top of it. Is there any filter or Amplifying that we need to do to make it like those studio where the singer's voice is inside the music? Using X-fi Fatality to record it.

In the multitrack window you can adjust the both the vocal track and backing track volumes.

As for the voice 'not inside' the music, you'll have to play around with Delay Effects -> Studio Reverb, and Filters -> Equalizer (graphic or parametric). The trick is to match the difference in tonal signature and acoustic space of your vocal and their backing track. The difference is due to hardware (mic, preamp etc) and the physical recording space.

The reverb is insanely complex so you just use the provided settings and only tweak the one which match the closest. For the equalization you may add more presence (boost 1k-5kHz region). Additionally if your mic is not good you may even use dynamics processing to suppress noise and rumble, and even remove irritating sibilance (sharp "S"s).

Also, your sound card, is just a "gaming" soundcard, and not built for recording pro-quality vocals.
If you want something to record vocals, you'll have to get yourself something like the creative EMU 0404 or a dedicated unit like the M-Audio Fast Track

Honestly, if you want a better recording microphone, try out M-Audio stuff:

actually gaming soundcards can be used for recording.
but of cos limited to single track only.

it obviously cant handle multitracking like professional cards.

as for minde, sounds more like your mixing levels are wrong...
or you added too much reverb to the vocals.

ur mixing is where things goes wrong.

may i ask why are u going for such high end microphones? if u're getting a condenser sennheiser mic, thats definitely going to be very expensive, and with ur soundcard, theres totally no point at all. then there'll be an issue with phantom power to power up ur mics(if u go for good recording vocal mics, which i would naturally go for a condenser).

that budget u cant even get a shure sm58 dynamic mic. lol. well u can try the local made taming sari mic. i heard samples and its good. contact bassraptor/sujesh if ure interested. remember u would need to spend another extra rm400 roughly for a DI box with phantom power.

amp is totally another thing. condensers need to be powered up so thats what phatom power is for. your case just get a dynamic mic. normal karaoke mics are normally dynamic mics.

sm58 is a dynamic mic. its above the rm400 range. its the industry standard dynamic mic for normal live usage. nothing special. US list price is USD$188 but online sites selling it at around USD$100

Not to be a total d*** or anything, but with a budget of 200-300 just forget buying microphones. Instead try to see if you can borrow a microphone from a friend or a friends friend or whatever. As for the phantom power, a DI Box is not necessary because all mics are balanced anyway. There are 19" phantom power units available but they also cost quite a substantial amount of cash. And are usually multi channel which i assume you don't need.

My suggestion for your hardware is get a super cheap behringer 4 channel mixer or something like that with built in phantom power (second hand even better). Set all EQs to flat and all faders/resistance to 0 or "U" depending on what your mixer labels it as. Should fit into your budget (without mic of course).

The rest is all about mixing and mastering. Which i have little to no idea about so i better leave it. Btw, decent large membrane condensers start from RM2.5k per piece and RM5k is the usual price you would pay for one.

why i suggested the DI with phantom power is coz its within reaching distance of his budget (which is around rm400 for a dbx one, whereas behringer mic100/200 will be less than that). going for a proper phantom power unit would be silly as he doesnt even have money to get 1 proper mic.

as for mixing, its 99% EQ, levels and compressors. as easy as it sounds and it is to learn, it takes years to master. mastering has alot of explaining to do (and also the fact im not so good in mastering myself). as ur backing tracks are already done, i assume theyre already mastered. so i guess u can get away(sort of) with mastering ur vocals if u mix it in just right.

well the behringer xenyx 802 only comes up to about 200+ if i'm not mistaken. And you have phantom power for 2 mics (should the need arise). Sure many say it's a piece of junk, but if you're just going for the phantom power, cheaper is better right?
