Just for your info

High = 56k
Medium=28k
Low=14k

If you have problem sending fax at higher speeds, it is usually the fax machine on the other end cannot connect at faster speeds.

Almost all fax machines including all in one can adjust baud rate transfer from 9600 up to 56K. Usually adjust the slowest can correct compatibility and communication problems.

You are right if the fax machine is too old, it may not be able to communicate. But usually newer ones can auto sense lower speeds and accept the fax signal. Only the newer 56K one has problem transmitting to lower speed ones. Well not really an issue not since TS already solved his problem.
