In 1959 Britain granted Singapore a large degree of self-rule. Mr Lee, leader of the People’s Action Party, became prime minister after a landslide election victory.

1959 then 1965 till present

Similar to Sarawak but sadly did not achieve 2nd independent although the Sarawakians rebelled against the formation. Those leaders that against it were rest in pieces.

Sarawak gained self-government from the British on 22 July 1963 and formed the Federation of Malaysia together with Singapore, North Borneo and the Federation of Malaya on 16 September 1963.
After the federation, it never restore its full independence and sovereignty as enjoyed during the rule of the White Rajahs. As it degraded from equal partnership to merely a state.
