I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. My prediction/calculation for the new RON97 price that will come on Thursday:

RON95
25/6 USD81.32 @ 4.0190 = RM326.82508
26/6 USD81.28 @ 4.0300 = RM327.5584
27/6 USD82.12 @ 4.0320 = RM331.10784
28/6 USD83.41 @ 4.0450 = RM337.39345
29/6 USD83.97 @ 4.0500 = RM340.0785

Average weekly price per barrel 332.592654
1 barrel = 158.987295L
RM2.0919

Operator Margins is RM0.05 Alpha, RM0.0954 Operating Cost, RM0.05 Oil company margin, and RM0.1219 Petrol station dealer's margin

RON95 price is RM2.0919+RM0.3173 = RM2.41/L
RON97 price is estimated to be RM2.55/L (Around 14 sen more than RON95 on average) - an  increase of 5 sen.

Not sure if correct, but the average price of RON95 for September was RM2.66 - thus if the previous formula of RON97 being 14 sen more expensive, it'll be priced at RM2.80...

So I highly suggest you to fill up to the brim soon, as the RON97 price will increase by 15 sen if according to monthly average price of September.

-EDIT-

I forgot to add... Tomorrow is supposed to be RON95 EURO4M compliant. So quiet now man - they expect us to forget about this ka?

Source from Kensomuse Facebook...

"Back in 2015, the government announced that the country is set to implement RON95 Euro 4M standard by October this year. The use of Euro 4M would reduce sulfur emission, thereby improving air quality. The present Euro2M fuel has sulfur content of 500 parts per million (ppm). Euro4M would reduce it to just 50 ppm.

However, it appears we may not be on track to introduce this.

In a letter sighted by kensomuse that apparently originated from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism dated 24 September, it is stated that the government agrees to defer the implementation of Euro 4M from 1 October 2018 to 1 January 2020.

This decision was made in view of the revelation of the RON95 Euro 4M cost early next year as well as time for the oil companies to complete the transition from RON95 Euro2M to Euro 4M.

We have reached out to KPDNKK to verify the authenticity of the letter.

If this is true, I wonder what would have caused further delay of another 1 1/2 years from announcement date 3 years ago. The introduction of RON95 is certainly welcomed, especially for continental turbocharged vehicles that would run cleaner with the fuel.

Let's see what the government says about this"

cry.gif Hopefully is not true.

Another source. Seems like Malaysia has postponed the implementation of RON95 Euro 4M to 1 Jan 2020... Means have to wait for another 15 months.. zzzz

With the current high price of RON97, no choice have to go for BHP RON 95 which claimed to be cleaner...

Just curious after looking your statement... You guys using RON97 for power? For detonation reduction? Or environment conscious wanna reduce the sulphur fumes?
If RON95 Euro4M same power as current, still causing detonation (on my gen2 only RON100 silence the engine knocking, yes we knew Campro's trademark which current Iriz also experiencing), will you guys switch to RON95 Euro4M?
*
I use RON97 mainly because of the high sulfur in RON95 which is bad for engine etc, partly for environment. Just sometimes feel more responsive & smoother with RON97. Now with Euro 4 RON95, i dont mind save some $$. Anyway i dont drive high performance car. just a small 1.5 turbo that can even use RON 92. Campro need RON100?? doh.gif
