Can't wait for electric vehicle to become mainstream like in Shanghai. Don't need to worry about your catalytic converter and petrol price for that matter.

The only magic which you would probably won't see is the amount of money spent the keep it at RM2.08

Calculation and table of estimated price can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 6/11 to 13/11 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), RON95 should be around RM2.37, and RON97 should be around RM2.67.

However, since they announced that RON95 will be capped at RM2.08/l, my estimate is RON95 will maintain at RM2.08 and RON97 will go up by 10 sen to RM2.67 (±1 sen).

Great write up.

To add on, at the oil company's depoh throughout the country would also use the same approach. Supply of EURO4M starts around 3 to 4 months before. EURO4M product is dilultes the existing stock at the depoh untill it eventually fulfills the EURO4M specification.

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jan 12 2020, 08:31 AM)
To answer a few queries on whether the RON95 fuel in petrol stations are now fully EURO4M compliant, or is it a mixture of EURO2M & EURO4M, I asked 2 of my friends who are running petrol stations some questions, and below are their compiled answers:

1. Petrol station tanks range between 13K litres to 40K litres. Each stations also have between 4-10 underground tanks to cover the petrol products sold (RON95, RON97, VPower Racing, RON100, Diesel EURO2M and Diesel EURO5M). All Petrol Stations are mandated to have at least 2 days stock of fuel.

2. Petrol Tank Lorries in general range from 10K Litres to 48K Litres, which is segmented by 2-4 compartments (same as petrol products above). The tankers replenish the petrol stations as often as twice daily, but the low volume stations may be replenished up to every 2 days. On average, the petrol stocks are sent daily.

3. Petrol station owners do not set what, or how much fuel comes as that is determined by the fuel companies. The petrol station owners would key into their system what is the balance petrol stocks in their tanks, and their daily sales before 9am. Oil companies would send orders to replenish the station stocks in the late afternoon.

4. Thus, there is no question that all petrol stations now carry fully compliant EURO4M RON95 in their stocks. Before launching any new products, the petrol companies generally send the new products to all their stations 1-2 weeks before officially launching so that even the low volume stations would be able to fully replenish their tanks with the new products.

Hope this helps.

60 sen per liter for petrol, once I find the gazett I'll update the post.

Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 12/3 to 18/3 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.31 and RM1.61 respectively (±1 sen).

If we follow the previous Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 58.62sen per litre for petrol products sold.

The Sales Tax (Rate of Tax) Order 2018 which was published on the 29 August 2018,
has set the tax rate for petrol at 60 cents per liter and diesel at 40 cents per liter.
This rate is stated on page 56 & 57 of the order as per document attached.
This is not withstanding any relief given by the government from time to time.

Yes up to a maximum 60 cents per liter

For RON95 it rarely happen for government to collect tax.

But for RON97 which costs around +- 5 cents extra from RON95, but we can see from the retail price that the government collect tax from it.

Any tax analyst here can help to add on?

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Apr 2 2020, 08:29 PM)
Thanks bro...but judging from how they reduce the lowering...I bet we won't see anything below 1.3 right? hehe
so means by law they can tax up to 60c/l for petrol right?
