Plan to get the standard MT variant. My concerns are:

1. Only 2 speakers are fitted as stock. Will adding additional speakers (6x9) void the vehicle warranty?
2. Anyone experiencing crackling noise from BT audio streaming using iPhone 6S? I have this problem with my 15 y.o Waja (fitted with Exora's HU). Using AUX is just fine.
3. How's the audio quality of the stock single DIN HU?

Cheers all wink.gif

1. According to SC, anything require modifying the wires will void the warranty.
2. No iphone, so can't comment...
3. To me the stock single din + speakers is miles better than Myvi original setup with 4 speakers. I'm quite satisfied with the sound quality even lack of 2 rear speakers, still much better than the Myvi one... The myvi I'm referring is 1st gen Myvi.

Thanks for replying mate.

Just wonder if 2 rear speakers (6x9) are installed at the rear parcel shelf (or rear doors) could hide from the SC's prying eyes? tongue.gif I enjoy listening to songs whenever I drive so i'm more particular with the audio quality but not up to the extend of investing thousands into ICE.

And yes I agree with you on the Myvi's (1st gen) audio setup, it's so mediocre. puke.gif

Do you think the Exora's double DIN HU can fit to the Persona without modding the wires (just plug and play)?

Cheers. smile.gif

Any standard variant owner installed additional speakers at the rear? If ANY:

1. Where did you install them? Rear doors or rear parcel shelf?
2. How are the additional wires connected to the HU? Cut wires or connected with ISO connector?

Please enlighten. Cheers. wink.gif

Hi Guys!
Got my CVT Premium yesterday from Jalan Ampang showroom.
This is my first car and am very proud for that. However, I have a small problem. When I play songs over Bluetooth, the treble makes a bad screeching sound always. But when I'm Aux cable, no such sound and all perfect.
My phone plays Bluetooth over other speakers prefectly fine. Which makes me think that there must be something wrong with the Bluetooth receptors in my car?

Anyone can help me understand what this might be?

Thanks!
*
Hi nejordida,

Are you using iPhone? i have the similar problem with my iPhone 6S playing on several car audio as well (via Bluetooth audio streaming). The treble end tends to distort and it's really annoying to the ears. It happens to my old Waja (using Exora double DIN HU) as well as some other friends' cars. So I end up playing those music through the AUX cable which is fine but have to bear with extra cable. However when I play the same thing on my house Bluetooth speakers (Philips), they played very well without that annoying distortion.

Seems like not many ppl are bothered with this issue, no? hmm.gif

Hi jlyeow!
U r spot on bro! Mine is iPhone 6S too. I am using aux cable too. But there's a problem there as well. If I use the aux cable and put my phone on charge through one of he USB ports, there's a hissing noise... something like what u have when FM radio signal not available.
I'll try to change the aux cable first and then test it again.
But yeah, I agree with u, no one reported this problem before u and I 😝
*
Hi nejordida,

Finally someone from the same channel! laugh.gif

This treble distortion issue started when I was still with my iPhone 5 (playing on the same HU as the current one). However I don't have the hissing noise when it's on AUX cable so I suspect it could be due to poor quality AUX cable, or probably it's picking up those electrical disturbances. I do get some alternator whining noise when the AUX cable is not properly plugged in (to either HU or phone) and what I'd do is just simply shove it in and give it a good left-right twist and it's good to go.

Whenever my phone is on AUX and charging cable simultaneously (via car charger), I do get very minimal electrical buzzing noise but as soon as the music plays through, that noise just doesn't bother me much.

Try get a decent AUX cable and see if it's still picking up the unwanted noises.

Cheers. thumbsup.gif

Hi jlyeow,
I tried with a different, better quality (Phillips) aux cable and now it sounds better than before.

Thanks buddy!

Hi nejordida,

Good to hear that you've solved the AUX cable issue.

I read through several articles about the treble distortion issue via Bluetooth audio streaming. Some say you have to reduce the treble via the EQ in the phone setting. I have yet to try it hence I cannot comment much. Perhaps you can try it out? I'm gonna try mine this evening to see if it works.

Settings > Music > EQ > Treble Reducer

Good luck mate! wink.gif

Has anyone retrofitted the front fog lamps on their standard variant? Can the factory fitted lighting stalk operates the front fog lamp or an additional switch is required (which involves wire tampering)?

Has anyone know how to remove the stock HU on the standard variant?

Has anyone retrofitted 2 rear speakers on the standard variant? What brand/model would you recommend?

Cheers. wink.gif

Went to sc yesterday for some checking on suspension noise. I saw the mechanics still able to open the hood. Just now it supposed to pop the hood while triggering the release but it didn't.
*
Try having someone pull and hold the hood latch while you pull up the hood in front? Sometimes the mechanical latch stuck and does not allow the hood to pop while you pull the hood latch.

Has anyone fitted rear door speakers for their standard variant? I heard the factory wire harness for the rear speakers is hidden either in the B pillar or in the door. Anyone know about this?

Cheers. wink.gif

Walaowei triplemax perdonut is RM178,  but XM2 someone used it till 80K KM and still the tyre can be use. My travel is around 20K per year, that will last me around 4 years if like that, honestly quite cheap considering longer used times. Any suggestion which fully I should go, I'm not that expert on engine oil xD
*
XM2 and PS4 not much difference, why not PS4 for better performance? I had PS3 on my old Waja and it performed really well in dry and wet surface, and it's quiet too. Give it a try and you won't regret. nod.gif

You kidding right? Comparing xm2 and ps4. Ps4 is a uhp tyre and min size is 16 inch only. No 15 inch size.
*
Oops my apologies. Yes you're right, PS4 is 16" minimum. I was comparing with PS3, not PS4. My apologies for the mistake. doh.gif

PS4 softer compound no? will the thread last longer?
*
Sorry mate, I was referring to PS3, not PS4.

My old Waja is using PS3 and my wifey's Myvi is using XM2. XM2 is apparently more lasting but I prefer the ride on the PS3. Softer compound I guess. wink.gif

MT owners here, do any of you experience a brief hesitation after upshifting to a higher gear? It happens very obvious when you do a quick upshift, the hesitation can be felt in a fraction of a second at the moment you release your clutch and plant your gas pedal to the floor.

Has anyone experienced this? It's kinda annoying as the power doesn't come through instantaneously while the gas pedal has been fully depressed. sad.gif

what i can say is even iswara throttle respond is much more responsive than new persona. Plus heavy body weight may need more power to accelerate. However overall still better than CVT model...haha
*
Yes you're right, the older cars with cable controlled throttle is so much responsive, almost instantaneous! The body is no doubt heavy but there's still ample of torque to bring up the vehicle speed, just that the brief hesitation is kinda annoying, feel like it's running out of breathe and choked up. bangwall.gif

Your Persona MT experienced the same thing too? hmm.gif

Recently my ABS kicks in randomly when braking to a stop at very low speeds (less than 10km/h) on dry roads.

Anyone has similar problem?
*
How do you know the ABS kicks in? You could feel pulsation from the brake pedal? If I'm not mistaken, ABS would not function at very low speed as there's no such need.

Control your clutch, release slower, and floor the accelerator at the right time... do it slightly early before releasing clutch
*
I have no issue driving like the way you described, and the acceleration is buttery smooth. The problem happens when I'm driving in a rush (with slightly quicker gear shift), then the symptom will be noticeable. I literally don't have to shift the gears like a racer to get the problem to occur. It just happens at any engine speed, at any gear, at any engine temperature. sweat.gif

Yours is MT too? wink.gif

Just realized after 1 week that front bumper not really alligned. Initially I tot I langgar smth so I searched the pic I took on first day and zoom in then realize it's been like that since day 1.
Will SC help to allign back the bumper?
*
Hi sheahann,

I have the same issue too, the bumper popped out on the right side. I pushed it in and it went deeper than I expected and now the bumper doesn't sit flush to the side fender. mad.gif

I'll complain this to the SC and have them fixed it back when I'm there for my 10k service.

Anyway, I'm experiencing some kinda sensation like engine misfiring while the engine is idling. It could be felt from my butt that the engine is hunting while idling, and the RPM needle fluctuates very little bit.

Anyone has this issue?

Exactly the same. I push in now become lagi deep. Do u need to call SC to tell them first?

Hmm I don't think there's such a need. I'll include my complain into the service order when I send my car for 10k service. See what are they gonna do to it. bruce.gif
