now very less got the jerk issue already...
but when idling is smooth wor...

Mine is MT though. My butt could feel the engine jerkiness when it's idling. Gonna include that complain on my next service too, but long long way to go, current mileage is just 1,6XX km only. hmm.gif

this is normall for all new persona ....  there is not much solution for this , maybe they can tweak so can minimize but it still exist the issue .. same like rattle issue
*
Hi destee88,

Well this "normal" issue doesn't sound normal to me LOL! With these modern fuel management system, I expect these little things to be corrected much precisely via the ECU software. Anyhow it all boils down to how much effort the R&D department decides to put into rectifying this issue. blush.gif

fist time buy not 1 week rattle issue , common problem ,
FC comsumption is bad if run at highway with stop and go , thought it had good FC , the stupid eco asisit is useless.
the brakes feel like no brake the car at all .. even got whatever BA , ABS or whatever braking system , the cars does not slow down , had to press quite hard ... check edy with SC they said is normal no issue for them ...
So dun get fooled the features they put it just useless, only the air bags and the HPF steel is obvously show the advantages. but dunno air bags really work or not, cos i haven accident till air bags pops out yet ..
*
So far mine hasn't rattled yet, touch wood laa hahahaha. FC is questionable bcoz i most of the time stuck in the traffic, hence my full tank till the warning blinks is about 350 km. I know it's bad but I could still live with it. For the brakes, I find it alright though, somehow it's easy to adapt to it. Mind you each and every car has different braking feel so maybe it's just the matter of adaptation? I find it just nice, not too spongy, not too "aggressive".

luckily i buy standard version only , the HU units can throw sea ... lag like hell
*
Isn't your standard HU a Blaupunkt unit? I somehow find it decent though, I use BT audio streaming most of the time and I don't see any lagging problem LOL! Sound quality is decent enough and it lives up to its expectation. rclxms.gif

1st issue rattle i am quite fine with it RM50K car ma ,, but others problem i cannot accept cos this si the purpose i buy this shitty car ... now surve  no purpose for me with this car i buy
*
Bro what sort of "purpose" do you want the car to serve you? BA, ABS and ESP all work during emergency braking/maneuvering and I bet you don't do these crazy stunts all the time, do you? Shitty or not, it all depends on how much you know about your car and its functionality.

Despite the little annoyances, I still think it's a huge leap in terms of improvement for Proton. So chill bro, don't give up the car yet. cheers.gif

not stunts at least it got a grip on i accelrate the brake pedal la, but no had to press harder only can feel the grip of braking .. so what's for the BA and ABS ?? the car brakes feel like kosong grip when brake just same like 11 years old my vi kosong safety features  ..
*
"had to press harder only can feel the grip of braking..."

It's the matter of you adapting to the braking feel, my friend. Same goes to Myvi which is shitty in braking performance too, but as long as you could adapt to it, it does serve its "purpose", doesn't it? Every single car has its own thing to be adapted to, and the driver has to adapt to it, not the other way round LOL. sweat.gif

I'm pretty sure you've test driven the car before signing the dotted lines right? cheers.gif

I agree the brake is so so, but I think you are still not use to the brake pedal of this new persona. I know some car just need press little on pedal to brake, the persona need press deeper but the grip if good enough. Or you can try to adjust the brake pedal to higher position.

FC will be improve after 1st and 10k service, I can maintain 12km/L for 100% city drive and 15km/L for highway.
*
That's what I'd agree too. The braking performance is nothing to brag about but it's pretty good enough. Slap in a set of grippy tires and I'm sure the braking distance will be reduced significantly. rclxms.gif

Seem like I'm not alone. Even after sc fixed it. After 5min drive will pop out again.
Macam is defect. Coz the red colour also suffer the same issue I saw at sc
Driver side front bumper

Already 2 sc try to fix. But kenot lol. Who also facing the same problem raise ur hand
*
Oh sorry to see that bro. Make sure you complain again to the SC during your next service. Looks like the SC just helped you to pop it back to its bumper bracket without actually replacing/repairing anything. console.gif

I believe any marque has their own problems. Don't even think that leather interior is quieter than our local made cars full of plastic trims, sometimes the leather squeaks when they rub at each other and that's freaking annoying too.

And it's true, it's all about luck at times. I don't give a damn at those tiny little noises as I'll definitely turn on the HU while I drive.

Want a car that doesn't make any noise? How about stop breathing? LOL! icon_idea.gif

With the speaker, can you hear the difference between ...say John Petrucci's Mark V rhythm tone vs solo tone? When the solo kicks in, can you hear it's OD pedal or in-amp boost????

Actually what so good about the rear seat headrest?

I had a few passenger who prefer this current headrest setup at rear for this Persona because they complain those adjustable headrest is not comfortable for sleep, they prefer this soft wan on Persona  hmm.gif

Plus its not like u got so much chance to sit at the rear pun  dry.gif
*
For this I have to agree with you that the current headrest on Persona's back seat is something that I preferred over those with adjustable ones. I hate those adjustable headrests when someone pulled it up and didn't put it back down when they left the car, and that damn headrests are obstructing my rear view!

QUOTE(Blueflame99 @ Aug 3 2017, 09:10 AM)
Hi Sifus

I've just submitted my documents for Persona Premium.

But lately in this thread I've seen some very negative comments. Can you enlighten me on the concerns? Should I cancel? Thanks for your time 😀
*
Good morning Blueflame99,

Mine is a standard MT variant hence I can't comment much about the CVT gearbox, the HU, the keyless entry/starting, and any other features available in Premium. Mine is just less than a month old and current mileage is merely 2,000 km. Just a brief sum up:

1. Comfort: Decent enough, sound proofing isn't the best but fair enough until you gain speed up to 80 km/h and above. Turn on your radio and voila! Seat comfort is good for me, even the rear seats are comfortable as well, not too straight upright like sitting in a near 90 degree angle. NVH level is so-so as the stock tire (Silverstone Kruizer) is noisy AF. Slap in a set of nice rubber and you should get a much quieter cabin. Mine do not have the rattling noise (yet) but I don't give a damn as I crank up my HU volume whenever I drive. cool.gif

2. Engine performance: Engine is torquey with the MT gearbox. Acceleration is effortless as long as the RPM goes beyond 1,500 to the redline. And i love the engine note too, the low RPM rumble is nice and doesn't whine like a mosquito. tongue.gif The engine, however, hunts while idling, and I could feel it from the cabin. Not sure if this only happens to my car. Another issue is the brief loss of power after upshifting to a higher gear (e.g. 1st -> 2nd, 2nd -> 3rd, etc.). This phenomenon happens in a fraction of a second and only I could feel it (not the passengers) because I know I'm already flooring the accelerator pedal (with the clutch pedal fully released). It's more noticeable when you're driving in a faster pace. As per one of the forum member here, it's NORMAL for all Persona VVT, but I doubt so... hmm.gif

3. Gearbox: Mine is a MT so I guess I can't help much about the CVT. Gearbox is made by Getrag and engagement is snug fit. Gear ratios are beautifully matched with the engine and as long as you're at the right gear. 3,000 RPM at 5th gear is about 107 km/h on the speedometer. Hydraulic-operated clutch is easy to play with, not really tiring up your left leg after a long crawl in the highway. Heel-toe downshift is nice too if you're an MT user. rclxms.gif

4. Vehicle handling: Vehicle rides rather high and body roll is noticeable when negotiating bends. I came from Waja and the difference is quite obvious. Steering feedback is decent in urban city driving and small turning radius makes U-turning a simple task. Steering tends to sway very little to the sides when travelling at high speed (> 100 km/h), maybe it's just the characteristic of the electric power steering. Hit any speed above 140 km/h and you'll start to notice the vehicle swerving left/right, possibly due to high vehicle ride and soft suspension setting. Anyhow this car isn't designed for speed freak and corner king, so don't expect much in high speed cruising and cornering.

5. Safety features: Dual front airbags for the Standard and Exec variants. ABS and ESP come as standard and they work brilliantly on my car (tested and verified). Hill Hold Assist is useful for MT when you're about to accelerate off an uphill. Fancy for a drag launch with MT? Remember to switch off the ESP first. icon_idea.gif

6. Fuel consumption: Not very good IMO. I'm getting approx. 350 km from full tank until the low fuel warning blinks (8.3 liter/100 km as per on board calculation). I'm most of the time stuck in traffic jam, and I'm prone to have heavyfootitis (a sickness with heavier right foot) and occasionally do some drag launch, and that sums up my poor fuel consumption LOL! biggrin.gif

7. Conclusion: A very decent car for a sub RM 50k price tag. It takes you from point A to point B without much issue and yet provides you safety features that many cars do not have at this price tag. Boot space is generous with 510 liters and is good for family starter; standard safety features that assure you a safer ride; and a price tag that doesn't burn a big hole in your pocket. IMO Proton has made quite a handful of improvement in terms of fit-finish and body trims. Nonetheless there are still rooms for improvement and one could still pick up some negative bugs about the car (e.g. dashboard rattles, fuel consumption, non-adjustable rear headrest, popping up front bumper, etc.), but if you could bear with all that small little bugs, it is really a decent, fun car to own. biggrin.gif

The above review is solely based on my personal POV. cheers.gif

just got my pregnant tyre changed. proton told me the tyre is mostly likely damaged due to pot hole as the bulge is at the side and this is not under warranty. if it is at the middle then warranty would have covered the damage.

i plan to change all 4 of the tyres after some time since my silverstone tyres are still fairly new...

apparently silverstone kruizer tyres do not have a good reputation lol

I find that the grip in wet surface sucks too, easily slip and trigger the ESP. sweat.gif
