I am a unwilling user here. I did not buy it.

Cons = maintenance cost

Single filter cart contains carbon, mesh & UV lamp. All are changed in a single unit. Unit has to be powered on all the time. Unit is pre programmed approximate 1 year to replace filter even if you don't use it. Filter used to cost 4xx. Now it costs 5xx. And u need to pay membership to get disc. Which does not really offer much disc if u factor the yearly membership fee.

i used to work in lab, i incharge with the maintenance filter,
uv bulb usually change 1 year periodically,
if you can get the part number, you can try search it in china wholesale website,
used to do that for cheaper costing, and it works,
(lab filter have pH counter, and it works fine as per setting after use aftermarket parts)

This is true. The thing about this brand is the UV light. You can still use it, but they say the UV light life will go out. And they specifically say to let the unit power on every day. I think its stupid to let the light be on all the time. I did not power it off at nights to test if the filter is programmed to fail even though the uv light is ok. I'm sure when it is powered on 365 days the filter will require replacement. I stick a date sticker on every replacement. Its accurately 1 years few days and the red lamps lights up.
