Seems like no excitement here in malaysia about this camera unlike in usa or europe. Most youtubers and filmakers use panasonic gh4 and might be upgrading to gh5. But what about here in Malaysia?

Saw on lazada its around 5k something. Not bad for a camera that have stabilization, 4k internal recording, 10 bit color, and battery life much longer than sony. The only downside is its micro four thirds sensor but can be solve by buying the speed booster adapter like metabones, or maybe cheaper one like viltrox or commlite also good enough

Yeah, I have the GH5. Feels like a great camera and still learning how to use its full potential. So much video goodness compared to a Canon DSLR.

It's a really good video camera. Lots of features. Getting a 12-35mm F2.8 Power OIS to utilize the full Dual IS is recommended. Really good Dual IS you can leave the monopod home and gives a lot of confidence to just get in with hand held shots. I'm really like the peaking and zebras and really high frame rates. Cine D and Rec 709 profiles have been quite good with Luts.

Lacking features are High ISO performance and tracking autofocus. ISO is good up to 1600. 2000-3200 are still usable depending on your taste for noise. You can try to take on low light with F0.95 lenses or a speed booster. If you're really film making the movie in low light then you better be planning to involve lights. As for autofocus its not as bad as youtube makes it be. Single point focus is accurate and Peaking is decent for MF. It has post focus feature so you can plan your focus pull. So tracking focus is more of a missing feature than a flaw but who knows maybe firmware update might make it better. For me, the biggest weakness that bothers me is low light performance, especially when I know I have to shoot at a low light event.

For photography, it is a nothing special but capable camera. Feels like an ordinary crop sensor camera.

Can also get some cheap B-cams like g7 and g85. They all have Cine D to mix and match nicely.

What other alternatives are there? Sony. It's debatable. And have to wait for what Sony is going to bring out with the A7S iii, but it's not gonna be cheap. But the way I feel if you really want a better video camera than the GH5 you going to have to go for a cine pro camera like Canon C200, Sony FS series, Panasonic EVA-1 etc.
