QUOTE(sonicbull @ Jan 6 2020, 05:29 AM) Hi. If my tv can't support Dolby vision but use Nvidia shield to play Netflix DV, will the DV quality display on my non DV tv? There's Nvidia thread here-->https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4513032. You can check with these guys here. Then, for Dolby Atmos, with Nvidia shield I don't need avr with Dolby Atmos right? |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 6 2020, 06:26 AM) ISPs, services, governments, etc have been known to throttle or restrict access to certain services. I won't go into more detail since you are talking about illegal stuffs here..plus China app and China channels. If you've done the necessary such as.. Using a decent ethernet cable, changed default DNS settings to more favorable one and ensuring a healthy home network. Still have painful buffering that only goes away with the VPN? Unfortunately, you either have to find another, more compatible source or keep paying for the VPN. Welcome to the world of cord cutting. Hello Chief, I notice you have the following android boxes; That's the idea.. You are welcome. Nope.. Similarly with HDR10.. The extra data will simply be discarded. You can only see the benefits on a DV/HDR10 equipped TV. Same thing with Dolby Atmos...You need accompanying hardware (speaker amounts AND placement too) to be able to experience it. Be it a HT, Soundbar or AVR with dedicated speakers, etc, But if you are asking if you must have capable hardware before being able to play a UHD + DV/HDR10 + Dolby Atmos file? As example...Nope, you can still play the file smoothly. Thing is, you won't get the enhanced picture and audio quality contained in the file. Usually, the experience will be downgraded. Example, say yours is just a UHD TV and DD audio equipment. Then you'll only get UHD + core Dolby audio. The rest is discarded as can't be harnessed. Android OS TV Boxes: Beelink GT-King (S922X|4GB DDR4 RAM|64GB ROM), Beelink GT-King Pro (Beastly S922X-H|4GB DDR4 RAM|64GB ROM), Beelink GT1 Mini-② (S905X3|4GB DDR4 RAM|64GB) Can all of them play the following Apps; 1. AOTG 2. Playtv@unifi (the latest 7.9.11) 3. Netflix 4K |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 6 2020, 06:44 AM) 1. No issues... Beta version or modded cuz rooted. Thanks and appreciate for your feedback 2. Now using TIME, I don't have active login details to properly test this. App might install and launch. But then, we know that isn't enough to confirm smooth playback. If you are willing to share, I can test specifically and report back. 3. Officially? Nope. Unofficially? Possible. Though as I always mention. If one needs Netflix in 4K, you must already have a 4K TV. Typically, these ship with a Netflix app. Use that instead. Much better. On the rare chance there isn't one or its a poor experience? ONLY purchase a confirmed Netflix certified device. Don't bother trying to keep up with the hacks out there. You'll just stress yourself over something a few extra RM will solve permanently. One more....in order to run AOTG and Playtv@unifi - the device needs to be "Rooted" or "Not Rooted". Thanks again for your advice. |

QUOTE(akash @ Apr 2 2020, 06:34 PM) Good day Forumers and Sifu, Been long time posted in any of the threads. 1st page have your answers. From my own perspective all the things you mentioned; my best bet is Amazon Firebox Gen 2 or Nvidia. I recently upgraded to Nvidia (did little bit of saving) and I have no regret getting this box. I am kinda in a dilemma here. I am having a old Smart TV (Panasonic Viera 50 Series) which only have Youtube, Iflix and so on. Since the TV is fine and is connected to my HYPPTV / UNIFITV and thats pretty much i have. Since having stuck in this MCO / RMO , there is pretty much nothing to do or watch other then work from home and watching the same repeated show again and again. I downloaded Movies thru my laptop and Connect to my TV Via DLNA and watch movies bt that required me to have my laptop on and sometimes. Was looking for Android TV Box to unlock to expand my possibility and use Netflix, YuppTV and have a box dedicated to function instead of using my laptop. Came across TX6 (Link Below) and was having what i wanted.. A 4gb Ram and 64gb rom. However further googling found that they dont support Netflix due to License Issue. TX6 URL Was looking for cheap alternative anyway since after this MCO, not sure will have enough time in-front of the TV but that is a question for another day, so was curios and end up this thread which unlocked more Android Box model with different pricing criteria and also pros and con. Now i am confused as looking at Nvidia Sheild is way out the Budget and Beelink GT King and Amazon Fire Price almost similar (Its still on higher budget) and comparing with Tx6 feel worthless to buy the TX6 since complain of overheat issue / Lack of Netflix Support and so on. Budget wise Xiaomi Box as is cheaper but Comes with 2G Ram.. Since i was thinking of it as an investment to use it log term, which of the current Android Box is budgetly future proof and can run the below : Netflix Youtube Chrome Browsing YuppTv (India channel, subscription Based available in playstore) I dont Fancy playing games so my concern is more to Media and Streaming and use it long term and also can support external drive or link with my cloud so i can play movies from there. After looking thru, Amazon Firebox Gen 2 seems nice but yea budget is a concern since this MCO time, buying things and keeping reserve cash is a must but keeping sane is also another must. |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Nov 26 2021, 04:10 PM) Yeah, Kodi should be supported by all Android TV boxes. I have KM2 and using it for Plex + Kodi. 4K works, altho for those with HDR, it depends on your TV Thanks for your feedback, appreciated This post has been edited by tharmaraj: Nov 26 2021, 05:08 PM |
