Newbie here. What is the best high end iptv box? Can watch thousand of hd channels.

Best and high end ? As said in the above post, non other than Nvidia Shield TV. Though it is rather pricy, but you'll get both TV box cum game console in one device. Split he price to two and you'll find it actually value for money.

if u need convenient of using remote to navigation and apps compatibility with remote, only Android TV is able to provide.

there r also Chromecast buildin into Android TV too..

in my case, what I most love is the voice remote...
Keke ask ur parent to try it... after 1week u will see the result

Despite having the most compatible, snappy, voice commands, and user-friendly remote and game controllers for Shield TV and Apple TV4, my gf will only grab the LG TV Magic remote. The intuitive mouse like pointing and wheel control makes her feel other remote controllers are complicated biggrin.gif

spent couple of hours yesterday with my new minix u9...

the navigation for most 3rd party apps is very difficult.. most of the time i dunno where is the highlighted for command and some apps can't even navigate at all like Astro On The Go using the default remote. With the A3 airmouse remote it makes it a bit easier but i have to constantly using the airmouse which is quite tiring on the hand... lol... the default youtube app interface is hard to use with the remote..

the responsiveness of the system on action command still got a bit lag compare to smartphone.. i thought a typical 8 core should already be overkill for menu UI tasks nowadays...

somehow i can't get speedtest.net app to work. i installed it, launched it, saw the first 2 screen of it saying that it want to know my location to determine server to ping, then i click next but then it shows a loading animation indefinitely...

Learned my lesson of apps/remotes incompatible issues from Beelink GT1 Ultimate Android box too. Rii I8 keyboard remote does helps in some extent but the touch pad is still not intuitive and responsive enough. The feeling of frustration in apps navigation prompted me to upgrade to higher end certified Android TV OS devices and yes indeed, much better user experience now.
As for Astro Go, nothing beats navigating LG WebOS native AstroGo app with Magic remote. You simply just point, click and scroll.

I believe some of us here are using Astro Go app and hoping any kind soul can tell me if you are also facing with such issue. So far, I have tried on Minix U1 and my LG V30+ mobile phone. Previously it was working flawlessly. So, I just realised the app will crash if I expand the On Demand videos. I have no issue watching those shows listed on the main page though but once I expanded the list by clicking "See All", that's when app will crash. I don't recall such issue because I was still watching it few days ago. Earlier my box was on 8.2.4 and I have updated it to the latest 8.2.6 which my phone is using but still having same problem on either version.

Can you please try and let me know? I have cleared cache and data, uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted devices but still not crashed. I tried on my iPad and everything is OK. So it could be just Android devices... I foresee I will have a miserable CNY. sad.gif

Is Xiaomi Mi S one of them? That is like the best Android TV box now...

I would suggest Mi Box S, probably the best Android TV box (note Android TV is not typical Android box, it has a much better UI and own appstore). I think it can do both DD and DTS.

Perhaps you've never come across other better boxes other then Mi box s? Have you heard of Nvidia Shield TV?

Wanna check with you guys
I have this S905x box named 'Modeo' (2GB RAM/16GB ROM) that I put at my family's house
The stock remote is shitty like hell compared to my nvidia shield
Have to aim properly and press hard on the remote
After flashing to atvXperience, it was slightly better but still crap
There is also a zidoo h6 pro at the family house, the remote is much better than the modeo but of course not as good as the shield
So I'm thinking of getting one of those airmouse for this modeo box
Heard people saying that the remote from minix is good (RM90 or so)
You reckon the improvement (responsiveness and all) will be drastic?  sweat.gif
though I was told some functions on the minix remote won't work on other android boxes

If you found any good airmouse, let us know.

The air mouse are typically like shits :-

1) They drink battery like drinking water.

2) Constantly have to toggle between remote/IR mode vs usb-dongle (airmouse) mode. And then make to toggle between mouse mode vs non-mouse mode.

I doubt people understand all those things.

Yes, IR remote has to transmit IR vendor ID over which matches the box to be controlled. Without "learning", it is tight to a particular box. I am not sure if the minix remote can learn new IR code or not.

I'm shopping for remote control for my Shield TV too.
I much have the following features:
1) Gyroscope Air mouse
2) Bluetooth ( to free up USB port )
3) Voice control.
4) keyboard is not a must but bonus if comes with it.

From my research thus far, I've found Q5 remote control meet the first three conditions.
