QUOTE(Suarez23 @ May 1 2017, 12:11 PM) But this sports Devil when watching LIVE football will it lag like other? So far i didn't encounter any APPS can watch live football smoothly without lag. I only encounter once without lag when i first bought the BOX. I though is very good and happy cause can watch like normal even is 2mins delay. But after that one times, the rest are all crap LAG or cant stream. you can't expect too much as they sharing that feed from paid service. unless you paid the service they will maintain properly.

QUOTE(Condoliza @ Aug 19 2017, 02:54 PM) I looked through all these threads and finally just bought a Minix Neo U9-H with A2 lite. After around 1 year deciding... It came with FW002 firmware and i updated one by one via OTG up until the current FW006.This was very staight forward. It came with Kodi 17.Beta 7, i simply updated to Krypton 17.3 via play Store. I have never even used an android phone before now ,so you can imagine i was a bit in the dark to start off! however so far everything is up and running without any problems.. I am also very impressed with the official Minix forum where one can get a ton of information and support from Minix itself. Not he cheapest box but well worth it imho. I am only using a basic FHD 32 LG TV,around 6 years old which is working fine...so next up on the list will be a new TV i am thinking no need to get a 'smart' tv? bigger screen would be good. 49 or 55..

QUOTE(Condoliza @ Aug 19 2017, 03:53 PM) Agreed,32 in kind of tiny! i am thinking 55 ,but most seem to be 'smart' ,is it worth it now ..or just get a 'dumb' one? if you have an android box, you don't need to concern about smart tv. put budget as a priority and then follow with the spec. eg budget max 3.5 list of model size type 4k/FHD HDR/non-HDR warranty then filter according to the best.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Aug 20 2017, 06:32 AM) Yes, it is worth it. You just have to be sure and get a truly smart one. Not one that claims to be smart but is buggy to operate. I strongly disagree with this statement. In addition to the above, a smart tv is an added asset for media playback. It's easier to operate, faster to launch and if the app's are done right, for most uses, one would not have to always resort to the Android box for everything. I use my smart TV exclusively for certain local media file playback, Netflix (Get full res + DD5.1 all the time), YouTube (casting direct from mobile devices and pc, Mobile screen mirroring and media casting of media content located on mobile devices..viewed easily and wirelessly on the big screen and even the smart iptv for my iptv needs. Plus it's easier for our non-techy friends and family to operate the TV remote and or mobile device for casting, than to switch on the Android box and navigate. Can one get an external player capable of doing all I've mentioned above and more? Yes, but we'd be talking of Nvidia Shield territory here and that's at significant cost and even then, the experience would not be as seamless. So IMHO, for a truly smart TV, an Android box is there to push further than what TV is already capable of doing. nice to hear you utilizing your smart tv. not everyone use that kind of smart tv. most of them use for youtube. kekekeke. want to watch netflix need to paid want to watch iptv need to sub and paid want to watch kodi also can't if use webos or tizen. andriod os can but limited memory and processor. at the end continue watch astro and youtube. happily ever after hahahaha

My android box still using connected to half smart TV via LAN cable located at first floor which hv downloaded Playstore, kodi, etc. One thing is i m seldom use it as i m usually watch drama Series on my Smart TV as is FOC, listening songs with Sound bar with virtual sound. nice to know you got idea using smart tv. try maximize usage on smart tv, otherwise it will be wasted, share more idea to other ppl here. anyway which song app available on your smart tv? spotify? tidal?

QUOTE(Fusion @ Oct 5 2017, 06:52 PM) Hi, would like to know if any TV box is able to install and run Astro Go without any problem? i have bought EGreat A5 but it does not work with Astro Go as the unit has been rooted. if you purchase a non-certified box, mean android has been rooted and modified. so it won't load. unless you can customize app to trust root andriod.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Jun 6 2018, 05:23 PM) tat y no need concern bout google certification what u need is a reliable manufacture that can release regular update i know many smart tv (not android) no longer get update for their tv after 1 to 2 years... many app like youtube no longer works... one of the tv manufacture is LG. did they get google certification? yes they do... but after warranty cycle, youtube oso cannot play... is this cikai tv? LG and Samsung use their own OS. not andriod OS. it call TIZEN (Samsung) & WEBOS (LG). so developer need to work with samsung & lg not google.

people ask me what diff between google certified or non certified:
Here different :
Certified
1- Box come with Android TV features 2- Box come with Google Assistant built in 3- Box support with latest patch and update direct from Google 4- Support DRM level/Widevine digital rights to watch pure HD & 4K content from provider such as netflix, Sligntv, Directv 5- Expensive & many more
non- certified 1- most of root andriod 2- use normal andriod phone OS 3- custom patch and need to have update from factory 4- still can use google play 5- can use Netflix but custom patch (max 720P) 6- cheap!!

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Jun 6 2018, 07:08 PM) youtube is build by google for lg n ss. even lg n ss still support their own os, but stopped support for older tv. google is not responsible for the app future update. tat y manufacturer update is more important than google certification. never had this issues with my LG tv. so far all good. only problem low memory and cpu cause lag & sometimes suttering.
