Tested T100 on Harvey Norman, Queens bay Mall
Snap using auto mode, seems ok without flash (inside the shop)
picture come out pretty, too bad can print out n check the print quality (internal memory)
Check the pic setting, ISO =250, Zoom in looks good, but can it perform under low light? hmm.gif
Btw, the friendly staff there connect T100 to a 42" HDTV and the photo look magnificent (thanks to my lenglui colleague wub.gif , make her shy only)

but for RM1699 (no memory stick provided, it is really out of my budget)

Different menu (compare to T9/T10), maybe is due to new Bionz processor
So anyone here got any comments on their older processor? (T10/T50 owner?)
Maybe the new Alpha will feature Dual Bionz ? drool.gif

maybe some shops r trying to clear T50?
i went to Gurney last week, they (got Sony promotion) r selling older model for same price (but they give u 256/512mb of memory, depending on the models that u bought)

i ask them about T100, they say havent arrive hmm.gif
more like sales gimmick to clear old stock only vmad.gif

Bought the camera last Sunday for RM 1690 which came with 1GB of mem. Cables to connect to HDTV is like around RM 140 smile.gif Haven't gotten used to the menu yet which can be rather confusing at times, probably a bit too used to the Canon menu system ^^ Believe at that time the T50 was going for RM 1499 and the T10 for RM 1099 if not mistaken.

Bought it from Fotokem in Sg Wang, memory and carry case smile.gif the screen protector that they had I didn't fancy as it made the LCD look a little blurry so decided to get one from Sony instead, RM39, and as for the tripod got a few from the previous cams that I purchased so no loss for me there, but overall quite a good bunch of accessories that you got for RM1670 ^^

A few answers that i might know

Bionz processors are used in Sony's dlsr and looks hear its quite good

There are a few pictures in dpreview forums. It doesn't look too bad...for such a small camera

Touch Screens are bad!! Trust me...you will be frustrated when u are ready for a good shot but then u touch..and it doesn't register...argh! good old buttons are best

Then again alot of my sony knowledge comes from forums(i only had a canon A620 and its nightshot $uck b@lls...sorry for the rant tongue.gif) . Because Sony have been caught before creating fan site/posting self-praise threads/paying ppl for good reviews in forums, i am taking all this with a pinch of salt

So...trusting on you guys here who got it to post some dayshot/indoor/nightclub pics biggrin.gif

Really, from what i heard is the other side of the stories. Eg: Canon paying forumers and reviewers to hate Sony's products or sumthing like that. Oh well some call it conspiracy but they call it business. rclxub.gif

I just BOGUHT it 2 days ago.... As im noob in camera... For me., im satisfy with it......
But got 1 thing i gonna know.. When im inside a room with yellow low light... When i took the pic also it's lool very sensitive(my hand cannot shake too much if not the pic will blur).. Anyway im take without flash...
From my experience i think all the digi cam also face this kind of problem right??
Is there any setting or .... to solve it???
*
From my expirience and some researching, the T100 optical stabilizer is not as good as the Lumix. From ur situation there, the T100 automatically creates a slow shutter to gathers as much lights (maybe 1 to 3 sec) before it snaps, and the photo is BLURRRR.
IMO there are 3 ways to solve this:
1) Practice, practice, practice to stabelize ur arms.
2) Set the ISO manually, up to 400, if over 400 than the photo will be full of ants (aka grain noise aka unviewable aka unprintable rclxub.gif )
3) Please use tripod.
I hope this'll help. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey guys, i need some info..I was using the camera for awhile and all was well, when all of a sudden it prompted me to "Reinsert Memory Card"..

So i did that, and now for some odd reason, ive lost quite a bit of my photos..Once i had reinserted the card, the new (post reinsert) was saved on to a folder within the memory card, with all the photos prior (pre reinsert) on the card itself..

My problem is this, after all the above had happened, ive seem to have lost a huge chunk of photos taken before i had the problem..A quick search online seems to show that the camera and the memory card cane be attributed as the problem (although all online cases seem to say that the problem is for any card that isnt a Sony card, which mine is)..

Help.

Is ur MSPD ori? U know theres a fake MSPD right, and its really unreliable.
For me the Sandisk MSPD is better than the Sony's itself.
BTW, u shudn't pull and insert the card frequently, just my 2 sen. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm not an expert but from my understanding, ISO is the amount of artificial light that can be created by the camera's processor to brighten up the photos taken in low light situation. Which mean the higher the ISOs the better low light environment photos it can captures. But take note that most photos taken by point and shoot cameras will be unprintable if the ISOs above 400 (in the other word, the photos will be TOOO noisy).
And again this just my 2 sen and please correct me if i'm wrong. tongue.gif

here's one taken out of the t100, macro mode and with flash (Auto mode as well), straight out of the camera and resized that's all...

my comments is on the evident purple fringing & ISO noise, other than that, it does what a camera does, which is take pictures anyway... and with style... hmmm.. nod.gif

Those pictures isn't really a true representation of the macro functions... because it makes as if the mode used in your second picture is no use... when actually, it just needs to be further away biggrin.gif

For extreme close-ups, you need to get really near in order for it to focus (Zooming is disabled in this mode)
For normal macro, maybe a few cm away from the lens
And for macro off, it seems to have focused on the background anyway

Ya, that's what I want to say laugh.gif

Extreme close-up is good when you caputuring a very detail object

While normal macro is for a standard distance

For marco off is to make the background become a primary focus instead the object more nearer to camera become blur and categorized as secondary focus.

hmmm..i just got this camera for my gf at sunway. RM1590 with 1G memory pro duo and leather case. The case is very nice compares to the usual black color case they gave u.
Initially my gf wanted the red color, some how is not in stock. so Black color then.
I initially wanted her to get the ixus850is as i seen before the picture taken very nice. But hmm...sony design take her away. well i guess is as long she is happy with it rite?

i've try to take some picture with the camera, however, the noise appear on the picture it seems a lot. Even with flash, the picture still have noticable noise appear. Something weird with the flash, the picture taken with flash looks only middle part are where lights more appear, everything at the side seems no flash effect at all. Picture taken taken for me looks very fake. Object taken dosent really seems click if u know what i mean.

Interface wise is very nice, but i will said is not very user friendly. It will take times to find where is all the function are at. Different mode give u different kind of option.

Weight of the camear wise, i think is a little heavy.
Camera start up is slow.

Well, all this opinion anyway is from me who is noob in photography. Mebbe i still doono how to do all the settings, heck, i was aspecting point n shoot camera u know? I doono, mebbe i'm still new to sony camera function.

i do own casio z750. well, i know casio rite. i know. everyone saying the same thing. i do not have alot experience of camera only a few only. but for me. For me only, casio z750 is the still the best for me only best point n shoot camera.

So all this is all my opinion only..dont flame me. i also want to learn how to use this camera from here.

the concept is not like that. I'm pretty much can said that whenever the macro is on for extreme closeup, the object that near ur lens at 2-5cms become very very clear while the background become blurry...

While macro off is mostly for scenic photo, same like you are taking a KL tower picture from roadside, Off the macro and there you go, a clear picture.

Actually there's also a macro on function for close-up catching where I dun quite know how to use this function as the picture produced is both blur either the object I've focused or the background.

the edge of the object looks very noisy. and the edge looks weird. more like a cut and paste picture into a picture.
Am i using it wrongly or wut?

Anyone experienced warranty issue with this camera? I was going to get it, price dropped to 1500 or less, then I got some advice from a friend, those selling for less than 1599, are most likely non original sets AND fake memory cards (can be used but may encounter data corruption on the cards).

Those non original sets would have problems claiming warranty if needed. Anyone can confirm this?

Thats the problem, authorized shops with good reputation don't sell cheap sweat.gif

Anyway I'm still contemplating this camera with Ixus 950IS or Lumix FX100. Anyone wanna talk me into Sony T100 instead of the other 2??

by the way, mine was 3 years warranty.... (added another RM100 for extra 2 years warranty from Fotokem)

Also you should have consider ixus 850is instead of 950, as between Sony, Canon and Pana, that was on your choice smile.gif good luck.

1. the new selling price for t100 is rm1599(add rm99 to get 1gb genuine mspd + genuine leather case)

2.actually is possible for u to get it around rm1500 for above all 3 item

3.without this sticker,no 1 can claim that they are selling genuine mspd
user posted image

4.for non original set....normally the warranty will cover by themself only(the shop u purchase it)......

Thanks for all the info William! I'm still considering the T100 vs Ixus 850/950IS vs Lumix FX100. Currently Lumix tops the other brows.gif

I got mine from Bo Eing in Sg Wang.

RM1550 with original 2GB MS Pro DUO.

No extra charges paying by card.

I like the style of the cam, which is why I got it for my mom.

But the picture quality in low light and high ISO.

One word... "HORRIBLE"....

Sony, please please come out with a better and new firmware for the T-100.

I hope when printed out not too bad.

Just look at this shot. Taken with Auto and the exif shows ISO800 taken with flash.

100% Crop

i think you would find most compacts suffer from excessive noise above ISO400 (except the fuji f31fd,etc...)

you pay for a t-100 for the design, so that's what you got... wink.gif

So, you're saying actually most P&S cameras suffer this problem at above ISO400?

Next time around I think I will change to program auto mode so that I can limit it to ISO200-400, so that even it's not bright enough, the pictures wont be noisy.

I think under AUTO mode, I can't set the ISO.

After using my D80, I never had ISO problems. :-p

not sure about other brands but yeah, so far I seem to disagree with Sony compacts... the way i look across compacts right now is that fuji offers great night shots, canon (and a few others) offers 28mm, olympus offers waterproof, and then Sony offers design...

but yes, you should limit the ISO... unless you want to capture motion in a no-flash low-light situation.. smile.gif

actually after having my d200, i still have ISO problems... at 1600 and above... hehe

Hey, anyone regret after getting this camera? Just asking. Not certain whether to get this or not. I tried it in the shop. The picture quality is good at ISO 80. Not sure whether you guys agree or not. Stress when it comes to choosing which one is the best -.-

but like other user.. dis cam really really suffer from High ISO noise.. after 800 and above, da quality real sux. but hey, on the other hand, i gain benefit from da SuperSteadyShot features, for newB like me, holding a P&S cam oso hand shake, with those features, i guess it's worth buying provided u dun set ISO > 800, smile.gif

IMHO, the T100 was a big disappointment to me.

I really paid Sony just for the design but not it's quality of photos.

I got it cause it's stylish for my mom.

didn't know that this cam has the worst noise produced in photos ever (to me).

Also the LCD size..T100 is 3.0" but T20 is 2.5"
