QUOTE(willwen @ Dec 25 2017, 06:32 PM) yalah, step 2 is where the agent usually scare me about 20% annual inflation and why I need 1 million annual limit.... Ignoring budget, I think I only need to upgrade when my cover is not sufficient for present needs. I see no point to over coverage (in anticipation of $1 million hospital bill in 2047) even if my budget permits, unless you guarantee that I can lock in a lower premium now. But as far as I understand, the insurance charges will always go up with age anyway, no matter when you start, so I don't see the point of buying into high limits so early. That's my perception... open to debate... If you did not take the highest possible coverage now (since you hv no problem with budget) and if there is any claim till 2047 (the year you wanted to upgrade).....they may exclude that coverage or increase the premium to cover that.... earlier post you mentioned abt doing your own investment.....how much can you make from investnent that can outdo the cost of a cancer treatment? Jusr a thought that i hv....

QUOTE(gedebe @ Oct 21 2018, 12:09 PM) exclude meaning that the insurance co will still accept, I am talking about upfront reject, not even taking any ppl with mental illness!
Our consumer movement is strong as in advance country, insurance co can impose a lot of thing which benefit them and still we have to accept. In this case, insurance co should be making a lot of money because they are always protected by our weak consumer right i think exclusion mean...any things that are claimed if related to it will be rejected. if it the claim is not caused in any way due to depression...then it is claimable. thus for me, it will not be an upfront rejection..... but again, who am i to claim it to be so.....especially in forums. may i suggest you write to insurance company to get confirmed and latest info. "We shall only reimburse Reasonable and Customary Charges on eligible expenses which are deemed Medically Necessary". thus maybe >200k? This post has been edited by yklooi: Oct 23 2018, 08:51 AM

QUOTE(gedebe @ Oct 23 2018, 09:08 AM) for the clause, I assume this is normal as they won't pay for vitamin etc the we is insurance co. seems like you are well prepared for this plan just a reminder of this 20%++ thing...remember to have some money prepared for those in your household financial planning worksheet then. no other things to ask....will keep lurking to see if others got "comments" or "questions" for you. on a side note: when the doctors said something that is good to have....have to ask them if each and everyone of those "are deemed Medically Necessary"...if does not want the insurance company refuse reimbursement This post has been edited by yklooi: Oct 23 2018, 09:47 AM
