Any Insurance Agent in this thread would like to explain this situation?
Accident doesn't covered 100%?

My batchmate posted this in her Facebook post

Hi to all insurance agents out there..  Tidak kira la dari Preudential, Takaful, AIA, Great Eastern and others.

Hari ini saya mahu beritahu sedikit. I'm currently working at Private hospital in Billing Department.

Dear agent, masa you promote your medical card to your client, please inform awal awal  pada mereka apa yang polisi you cover like jenis penyakit yg macam mana, jenis ubat yangg macam mana, give the details to your client/customers.

If your client took the insurance that cover all of them, then it's okay, no problem, tapi kalau mereka yang tidak tahu dan tiba tiba ada ubat atau penyakit tu insurans yang mereka ambil tu tidak cover, end up mereka kena bayar, tidak pasal pasal kami pula yangg dituduh mengenakan bayaran mahal disebabkan mereka terpaksa bayar sejumlah wang bagi ubat atau penyakit yangg insurans mereka tidak cover.

Dan saya sering diajukan dengan soalan, eh kenapa pula tidak cover? Kalau tidak cover ,kenapa ejen saya tidak beritahu saya pun? See?

So apa tindakan hospital kepada mereka?

I'm not saying what she posted is wrong neither am I saying she is right because this is really one sided story because she assuming all insurance policy are given the same condition / benefits without knowing what is covered behind the policy.

Her accusation on trying to generalise all insurance agent are out to make money again. It's akin to saying all Chinese are dirty just because they don't wash their bottom after doing their business.

Again I'm not going argue with you on what she said is right or wrong but I just feel that it's uncalled for to give general allegation just because she works in some private hospital billing department which makes her to right to open accuse everyone in the industry. Again she's trying to create an awareness but trying to pull down the industry is not going to do her good as well.

Firstly does she know what is behind every patient Insurance policy whenever they want to make a claim and waits for the guarantee letter to be issued?

Secondly,
Is she able to publish evidence that all patient as you claim 100% are rejected for accidental claim with the hospital she works with? If not, where is she getting all these info to say so? Does she know what she say can be used against her for the accusation?

Again let me emphasise that if a person wants to bring up a case, make sure its back up with proper evidence of statistic. Not just because of 1 to 2 cases, then we acknowledge that everyone is facing that problem.

If the customer having some critical illness that doesn't covered, I still can accept it, but the person involved in ACCIDENT. Something that people can't avoid it want to involve in it.

So that's why I'm quite curious to know is it true or not that when person is involved in accident, the insurance doesn't covered everything.

Most insurance plan also offers maturity benefits, it depends on the plan and what's the main purpose you're taking it for.

Do take note that for normal sickness like cough and flu is normally not covered by Medical Card because it's solely for hospitalization meaning you're sick until admitted to the hospital, not for clinic visits unless it's a Clinic Admission which resulted into Hospital Admittance.

The main key point you should consider to cover would be
1. Pregnancy Complication for your wife
2. You and your wife's Medical Card coverage for any hospitalization
3. Death and Disability of either spouse
4. Critical Illness

Maturity benefits normally comes as a bonus and probably payouts only when you're much more older, we're talking at least 55 yr old or some 70 - 100 year old.

my 2 cents smile.gif

Normal sickness cannot cover?

Batuk, selsema, demam? I got it quite often especially Sinus.

If that case, useless for me to register for medical card.
