Can anyone shed some light why during admission with AIA Regular Med Plan 250 card, the patient still need to submit a 30k deposit in cash to the hospital before admission? Panel hospital and doctor. Any reason for this?

QUOTE(roystevenung @ Aug 16 2017, 01:01 AM) Maybe you can please describe further the scenario? 1. The type of admission, eg accidental or illness? 2. Time of admission (during office hour or off working hours or during Public Holiday?) 3. After the next working day, was the client being refunded of the deposit after the GL is approved? 4. How long has the medical card been in force? QUOTE(lifebalance @ Aug 16 2017, 09:20 AM) Probably it's best you can explain a little on when did the policy got in forced and what type of claim is it? Which hospital were you admitted? Will post more information later but for the next few days I'll be busy dropping by the hospital first. FYI the insurance has been since year 2007, then changed to a new medical card in 2013. This post has been edited by Icehart: Aug 16 2017, 10:37 AM

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Aug 17 2017, 04:22 PM) Normally within 3 hours, you need to check with the Hospital whether have they notified AIA or not. That's weird, I'm already staying at the room and they have photocopied my medical card they even know my coverage. Just checked with my agent and that AIA has not been notified, wtf this is platinum hospital definitely gonna chase later.

Panel hospital and doctor. Any reason for this? So here is some update on my situation in case anyone's interested in it. My mother has the plan 250 medical card coverage from AIA and was admitted to Sunway Hospital for stroke. She was a transfer patient from government hospital and during the admission the doctor filled in the prerequisite to have 20k cash for "Deposit". So have to cough up this amount somewhere. 7 days later the bill comes to around 20k+ and fully reimbursed by AIA with exception to some small negligible items. Pretty satisfied with the insurance although waiting for my agent to get back to me on the 20k deposit requirement. He already filed a case with AIA.

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Oct 16 2017, 06:56 PM) Membership is only RM10/mthly. This RM10 is paid separately from the monthly premium. Honestly the program is good but the app sucks!

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Oct 29 2017, 10:33 PM) Not sure, kindly contact FF for the calculation for the above offer. hmm got a bigger picture of where you found this wording from ? like the section or sub-section ? I asked and they throw back the ball to AIA. 20% discount I think that's clear but the grey area is the 30% cashback, how is it calculated.

QUOTE(rcantona7 @ Dec 16 2017, 08:10 PM) Yes for Prudential we cover Traditional and complementary treatment which is registered for Acupuncture , Traditional treatment, chiropractor and bone setter. per year/ per case/ per lifetimelimit. Hmm this what's the limit let's say after a patient get stroke? Like AIA depending on plan is up to certain limit and 60 days post hospitalization only.

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Dec 18 2017, 09:25 AM) Holocene answer pretty much sums it up. Best medical plan may cost very expensive so it will depend on your budget on what you need to cover at the moment if resources is limited, you may upgrade it gradually to the best medical plan in the future if budget permits and also the agent to follow up on your claim and providing you the service and necessary financial advise For AIA, can I take the medical claims forward to AIA office if the agent is unreachable/contactable?
