Thinking to get a lappy with cam soon.. drool.gif
Since it will have integrated cam, im thinking to install face recognition software into it for security purpose.. It may not be a good idea to do so as such technology may not mature yet.. But just make it high tech a bit..hehe

Anyone with experience on face recognition software? Wish it can be used in windows logon screen..

The one i googled is FaceCode from Recognix. Dunno which one is the best.. hmm.gif

Face recognition??? seriously? Once the mythbusters proved that finger print system can easily be fooled by using simple methods. And thats a technology that has been developed for nearly decades. Security is just an illusion. Good luck!

correct, the latest lenovo come with this technology. however, the face recognization is less effective then eye recognization, which is relatively much more expensive to implement.

I don't know about current commercial software, but i do know that there is facial recognition software that is not fooled by pictures or the like, and it works amazingly fast. I saw this a couple of years ago during a research demonstration.

it has certain limitations. If you grow a beard, wear a hat then the recognition % drops.

Fingerprint, it is depending on the technology it uses. Some is just optical , like a camera. These type can easily be fooled because there is no contact with the finger.

There are other more secure ones that measure the response from the finger that is touching it. If the responses are not within range of a normal human finger, then it will reject even though the patterns match. I have seen this demonstrated where they use various types of synthetic skin, rubber to fool the system.

Irregardless, the best way to do it is a combination of solutions plus what you have(smartcard,id,pass) and what you are(fingerprint, veins, dna).
