My iPhone 6s just died on me today. It's only 15 months of age, just 3 months off the warranty period.
Machines offered to replace it with a brand new unit at RM 1735 nett. According to them the motherboard is faulty.
Is it more worth it to get it fixed at a regular shop instead?
Need opinions.
Thanks!

QUOTE(abubin @ Aug 24 2017, 11:53 AM) It motherboard faulty, even if you get it fixed outside it will be expensive. Best is to sell the phone for parts for a few hundred bucks and then get a new phone. Unlucky! Would it be better to get the replacement at RM1735? Then sell it for a slightly higher price? Since it's a new unit. What's your advice? Thanks.

QUOTE(cry4freedom @ Sep 14 2017, 01:10 PM) Which Machines did you go? My 6s motherboard is semi faulty (broadband IC, vibrator, speaker all out) and now it becomes an expensive iPod lol. Also - were they offering the same storage size as your faulty phone? If they can replace it with a brand new with similar storage for RM 1735 then I reckon it is a good deal. The one in Curve. Took 7 days for them to replace a new unit. Couldn't wait so got an iPhone 7. Passed the new 6s replacement to my wife haha.
