is iphone 6s still hold its 2nd value? wanna let go mine..
still thinking keep it as backup phone or just sell it
*
I'm keeping mine as a spare for my mum's iPhone 5S. I doubt there's much value for it nowadays.

I see .. the screen line is longer by the time you replied . the warranty is no longer valid . How much does the screen replacement cost ?
*
The original one at the Apple store will cost you almost the same value of your phone, and third party repairs will cost you about RM400 or so. It's cheaper to DIY if you have the know how.

Too bad i don't have the time to replace myself as this is my main phone for work and personal . Rumors said that there the budget iPhone will be announcing soon .

do you know anything about it ?
*
Well, it's slated to launch by the end of this month, but Covid19 threw a spanner into the works laugh.gif I guess we'll just have to wait patiently and see.

Oh, and speaking of the dreaded virus,

my 6S has been officially declared non salvageable. battery drain like water. Took too ITWorld. thought battery change would do it. after thorough check they said not battery (since new one has same issue) but motherboard so replacement price RM1600 about there. not worth.
damn. love the phone. compact and sensibly has a headphone jack.
anyone here can recommend any fix/ place to fix this?
*
I think it's done for bro. Maybe look for a pre-loved one?

Friend has a water damaged 6S, not worth repairing. Can it be sold for spares? How much might she get?
*
Can typically get a buyer for about RM100 to RM150 for damaged ones, but since it's water-damaged I don't think it's gonna be possible since the internal components might also be damaged and can't be used as spares.

Could very well end up as a very expensive paper weight.

Thanks. Actually it's an iPhone SE, not 6S, but I guess that won't make a difference - it's definitely water damaged pretty badly.
*
Oh, a pity then. The original iPhone SE is still very much in demand if it was in good condition.

Anyone has problems running CarPlay on iPhone 6S? Mine seems to hang frequently. No issues with the 11 Pro Max though.

bitter truth, there's still lots of people don't even know about SE series as both resemble iphone 5s and iphone 8 respectively. they simply value the se same as 5s.. this is based on my experience
*
Coz they don't want to pay too much for what they assume is an inferior phone as the SE isn't exactly a cheap phone here in boleh-land

QUOTE(westlife @ Aug 1 2020, 12:39 PM)
i still have the 1st gen of iphone SE. it is still in immaculate condition since i have case and tempered glass on since day one.

it is now in my drawer for collection purpose. i still love the candy bar design iPhone like iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s or SE (1st gen).
dun use it anymore becos it is really too small display size to use comfortably given the rich amount of content accessible on Internet.

however, it is still a perfect size iPhone for one handed usage and it is still classic.  tongue.gif  it has the same processor as iPhone 6s so it is still very capable for day to day usage and it can still get iOS 14. haha.
*
Yeah, my mum is currently using the 5S and the display is pretty much too small for me already laugh.gif

I cant trust the shop anymore.
*
Try authorized service centers like Switch or Machines. RM199 for battery replacement.

Ahh OK, could be the storage then.

My 6S battery health went from 91% to 89% in a week, hahaha. I’m evaluating whether to get a replacement battery or trade it in for a 7 Plus as a temporary measure while waiting for iPhone 12 biggrin.gif

my iPhone 6S unable to connect to iTunes, App Store and can't turn off Find My.

I couldn't reset to factory settings and left hanging without anything i can do.

Keep getting "Verification Failed - There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server." when trying to connect iTunes and logout from iCloud. Network keep showing disconnected when i am in a wifi network + my 4G is working perfectly fine in my everyday spot at home.

It feels like half bricked now..

Anyone encountered same issue? Rebooting wont help at all.
*
No issue on my 6S. Maybe try plugging it into the power supply and attempting the hard reset again?

Mine is still in the box, haha.. Now trying the Poco X3 NFC. Will be trying that after this. I'm sure the 7000mAh battery won't disappoint!

lol hope so, but Im still abit doubtful bout the longevity of the android OS, will it start lagging after 1-2 years?
*
Any Android phone these days can easily last 2-3 years without lag bro, but to be on the safe side get at least 6GB to 8GB RAM minimum. Frequent and consistent Android updates might be difficult after the second year though.

One thing is for sure, no Android phone will have the longevity of an iPhone though - which is at least 5 years smile.gif

I resolved my issue with Apple Support.
The culprit is the Wifi 'Private Address' features implemented in iOS14.0.1 that gives me problem.

So far iOS14.0.1 is running perfectly smooth and no other bugs found. Its better than iOS13 in my opinion.
*
Good to know that! My 6S is also running fine on 14.0.1 so far. All smooth.

My 6S kicked the bucket yesterday. It was going great without any problems and then suddenly it won't turned on yesterday despite numerous attempts to charge it and hard reset it. For good measure I even brought the phone to QCD Sunway yesterday and they told me the phone can't turn on hence they can't fix it, hahaha.

They offered a 1 to 1 replacement for RM1550 - crazy....
