Was wondering if there are any Paradox fans here. You play lots of their grand strategy games and know quite a bit about them. I might have plans to start something. Only if I can find someone who is a hardcore Paradox fan that's willing to do it.

I'm a pretty big fan of it. Best GSG is Vicky 2 IMHO. Been playing Stellaris as well now but still not very much into it.

CK2 and EU4 is my bread and butter.

HoI 4? Yeah I know Stellaris was a great beginning but a boring mid game. I got back into it lately to see how it's changed. Some improvements... but still not getting the vibe of a huge improvement. Maybe the upcoming DLC 'Utopia' might do it.

Do you like to talk about your love for these games? Say in a podcast? Are you free to do one or would consider it?

PS: To be frank that was the reason I opened this thread. I don't have friends that like these games. I want to start a Paradox focused podcast. And I rather do it with a Malaysian. Which is why I'm not going to ask this on the Paradox forums.

Wow, podcasting is new to me, but I don't mind talking about it with a fellow Malaysian gamer wink.gif

Hook me up.

Edit: Never played the HOI series before, so can't comment on it much...

Ok let me see if more ppl answer here. The more the merrier.

I thought of starting with an episode on the CK2 5th anniversary. But I dont think i can organise a podcast group in time. Personally I didn't play much of CK2. Im more of an EU player.

But let me ask you this. What's your fav CK2 DLC expansion? hmm.gif

I think Reaper's Due is my favourite. Not only it fixes the game system (removes a lot of characters by plague or death) thereby making the game faster, it adds a unique playstyle of growing tall rather than wide (i.e. conquering or expansion by marriage/kin).

Ok I haven't played enough of it to see its impact. For me it's The Old Gods, for adding a massive new part to the game. Pagan religion, vikings.

Ahh, I concur as well for that. That would include Sword of Islam (but not Rajas of India as including it caused massive amount of lag in the game).

Hmm.. if you're doing a podcast why only limit to Paradox games? or even strategy games?

btw I love the Designer Notes podcast, give it a listen if you haven't already.

I think there are tonnes of gaming podcasts out there. Paradox grand strategy games are becoming an increasingly popular niche. Which as far as I know there aren't any podcast on their games.

I'm looking at those niche podcasts focused on a single game. Like Overwatch or Dota. Besides, the amount of hours I spend on a Paradox game, I'll hardly have time to play anything else. rclxub.gif But to my point, doing it more because I really like their games and love to talk about it.

PS: I listen to Designer Notes when Soren interviews designers that interest me. I also listen to the now on hiatus Idle Thumbs and the always excellent (possibly the only) strategy game podcast, Three Moves Ahead.

Fair point. Don't play a lot of strategies but I do play a few Paradox games, mostly RPGs. It's super interesting to me when they were talking about games building in Designer Notes.

Are there any local gaming podcast available?

Idk can consider fan or not, but I have quite a number of paradox games EU, CK2, CK, magika ......

I think I like CK2 the most since always end up in some real funny situation. I don't think I went as far as finishing any of their game though, many of them are very long.

edit : forgot about M&B ...... use to spend sh*t load of time playing the gun powder regime mod with other players online. (doing line battle, 58 patton batalion)

CK 2 before the current new games was the most successful Paradox game because of what you said. Insane situation, and accidental humour. You should try playing it more.

Mount and Blade isn't Paradox developed. It's by this Turkish couple under the studio name TaleWorlds. While M&B was published by Paradox, M&B2 (which Im still eagerly awaiting a release date) will be self published by the development studio.

I think a co-op multiplayer session will be fun. But I doubt people have the time. For me, it's really difficult to commit to multiplayer because I simply dont know when I will be free for gaming. But yeah I wanna try out multiplayer. Never played multi before actually icon_question.gif

HoI 3 I remember that was a beast of a game. It slowed down even beefy machines. Have you considered HoI 4?
