Bought him new food today...not too bad. Quite likes it - expensive taste. This post has been edited by meiteoh: Feb 22 2017, 11:01 PM |

Eh, anyone got tips for getting rid of ants? I heard baby powder is good.
My house is notorious for ants and they come calling within 1 day. Would vaseline or double sided tape work? |

Ohmy...definitely noted on the review. I actually find Pets Lover to be good - the one at IPC housed its Syrian individually.

QUOTE(cberry @ Feb 28 2017, 09:56 PM) Anyone can recommend some good hamster mix here? Been looking for the best food for my Dwarves and Syrians. Re hamster mix, both dwarves and Syrians have different requirements so you cannot use one mix for all, IMHO. Dwarves are more prone to diabetes so any mix with fruit or that is heavy in sugar is a big no-no while Syrians are pretty much okay with the regular stuff. I use Versele Laga Hamster Complete Nature (mix) and add Versele Laga Hamster Complete (pellets) for Jasper (he's a Syrian). You can refer to this list of good and bad options. When in doubt, please refer to nutrition listing & percentage:Also, anyone know where to get cheaper wheel for Syrian Hamsters? I saw one in Pet Lovers Centre which is RM70++. @_@ - Protein 17-19% unless you have growing pups or pregnant hammies - Fat 4-7% (not a problem as most mixes OD on this) - Fibre 6-15% (you can top up with fresh veg) Hamsters also need raw food, eg veg, fruit, meat (cooked pls) every 1-2 days. I feed Jasper fresh carrots, bok choy, apples, capsicum, pea sprouts, cucumber, zucchini and boiled chicken (those cat food packs/cans are good too)/cheese every alternate day depending on what's in the fridge. This list tells you what fresh foods are safe for both dwarves and Syrians. (Yes, I did my research.) Re wheel, you need a minimum of 8" or 21cm for the wheel. You can get those wooden ones for RM60 (mine is RM59 plus and is 23cm). Try looking online - some sellers sell 21cm wheels for RM30. This post has been edited by meiteoh: Mar 2 2017, 09:03 AM |

QUOTE(EternalC @ Mar 2 2017, 09:58 AM) campbell is nice. i love campbell. and no they dont bite if you do not startle them or bully them. try adopting younger ones, they will get used to u as they grow up. go for it My Jasper baru jeh let me pat him but only while he's eating. Distracted. LOL. Will come to the edge and look for me when he sees me so it's a good sign.If I get, I'll get from breeder - I think they would be tamer, etc. Haiya, I dunno la. I tidur on it dulu. |

How long have you guys left your hamster alone? A week? Two? Or better to get someone to come over and check, etc?
