if you open command prompt and type shutdown -s -t 01 and press enter does it do a shutdown or restart?
W10 can't turn off laptop

then somehow something must have changed on your desktop side. Do you remember since when this started?
If its not too long ago and it happen only after you install something then do a system restore to the point before you install that program and see if the issue is fixed |
